The unofficial start of summer. ❤️🤍💙

Coolers packed, grills fired, flags flapping in the breeze like background noise. But somewhere between the sunscreen and the sound of lawn chairs unfolding, I hope we pause.

Because this weekend wasn’t built on burgers, buns, and beach/cabin days. It was built on silence — the kind that comes after a folded flag is handed over and “thank you” will never be enough. 🇺🇸

It’s red, white, and blue, but also grief dressed in uniforms.
Empty boots beside full hearts.
Letters that came home when people didn’t.

So light the grill.
Raise a glass.
But also raise your heart in gratitude and reverence.

Remember that long weekends like this were paid for by someone else’s short lifetime.
Because freedom isn’t just fireworks and parades.
It’s a legacy — one we’re lucky to live inside because someone else stepped outside of it so we could.

So yes, laugh, play, and rest this weekend.

But remember too: this weekend isn’t just about summer.
It’s about sacrifice.
About the men and women who laid down their tomorrows so we could fully live our todays.

This weekend, we had the opportunity to attend Love Life in Two Harbors — a powerful event honoring those we have lost to su***de, while bringing awareness, education, and hope to our community.

Su***de impacts more people than we realize. And conversations like these matter. Connection matters. Checking on people matters.

Thank you to everyone who shared their stories, showed up, walked beside others, and helped create a space where people felt less alone.

If you are struggling, please reach out. And if someone comes to mind while reading this — check on them. Sometimes the smallest connection can make the biggest difference. 🤍

✨Mindfulness Alphabet! Today our letter is "E"✨

"E" is for Empathy! 💙

Empathy is the ability to genuinely understand and feel what another person may be experiencing — without immediately judging, fixing, or comparing it to your own experience.
In mindfulness, empathy starts with presence. Instead of rushing past someone’s feelings or reacting automatically, you pause long enough to notice:
What might this person be feeling?
What do they need right now?
Can I listen without trying to control the moment?
Empathy also includes yourself. Self-empathy means noticing your own emotions with kindness rather than criticism.
Empathy is not:
agreeing with everything,
taking responsibility for everyone’s emotions,
or absorbing another person’s stress as your own.
It’s more like:
“I see your experience, and I’m willing to be present with it.”

Take one slow breath.
Think of someone — or yourself — who may need kindness today.
Silently say:
“Just like me, they have struggles.”
“May they feel supported.”
“May we both find peace.”
Take one more slow breath.

Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the Stewart Trail Fire affecting the Two Harbors community.

To the first responders working tirelessly through exhaustion, danger, and smoke — thank you will never feel like enough. Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our community does not go unseen.

We also hold close the families who have lost homes, been displaced, or are facing uncertainty today. There are no words for the devastation and grief that so many are experiencing right now.

Please know: you are not alone.

We are here for anyone needing support during this difficult time. Whether you need someone to talk to, resources, or connection, our doors and hearts are open to this community we love so deeply.

Even in devastation, community shows us who we are — and this community continues to show up for one another in extraordinary ways. 💙

Today, a group of our therapists, psych nurses, and admin team spent their time volunteering to clean up the highway we adopted — Not because they had to, Not to get paid, but because that’s who they are.

People often see therapists for the work they do inside the office.
But what I get to witness every day is who they are outside of it too.

These are people who continue to show up for others, for this community, and for causes bigger than themselves — time and time again. With compassion. With humility. With heart.

I am endlessly grateful for this team and the kind of humans they choose to be when nobody is requiring it of them.

This community matters to us.
And I’m so proud to stand beside people who prove that through their actions over and over again. 🤍

Mindfulness Alphabet!
Today our letter is "D"

"D" is for Delight

Pause for one minute and gently notice three small things bringing you comfort or happiness right now.
It could be:

the warmth of a drink,
sunlight through a window,
a favorite song,
a soft blanket,
or the feeling of a deep breath.

As you notice each one, silently say:
“This moment matters.”

Mother. Mom. Mama.

A word that carries an experience so deeply rooted in all of us — yet never the same.

This week, we spent some time making mini bouquets to celebrate the moms in our lives — motherhood deserves to be honored in all its forms.

To all the moms— thank you.
For the love, the care, the strength, and the silent sacrifices.

And to those suffering today — grieving, longing, struggling, or carrying complicated feelings — you’re not alone.

For all that motherhood gives.
For all that it takes.
We honor it all today.
