Are you a default parent with kids under 5?

Here’s some fitness advice we share with all my clients in this season - and advice we follow ourselves!
- interruptions in your workouts are expected. It may take an entire day to finish a planned workout. THATS OK! You did it.
- all or nothing mentality is brutal. Embrace any movement! EVERYTHING “counts”.
- have a plan A, B, C, etc. for movement in your week. If something falls through or needs change, jump to the next in line. I hate this reality but it really helps to still get movement in.
- communicate your needs with others around you. Your needs matter!
- have a plan for workouts (follow a program or attend a class if that’s possible) so there isn’t guess work when you actually get the time to move your body. Moving towards something is so rewarding AND building strength requires progressive overload.
It’s ok to dislike a lot of how fitness looks and feels in this season. It’s often so different than pre kids. The reality is, if you ditch the all or nothing and embrace imperfection with routines/schedules/workouts you will most likely get MORE of what you want in the mix.
You don’t have to be at the top of the priority list each day (ahem, impossible as the default parent). But, I want you to fit yourself in somewhere besides the bottom of the list whenever possible. You deserve that.
Fill your cup FOR YOU.
