The Minnesota Pharmacy Student Alliance is the professional student organization for students at the University Of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in Minneapolis and Duluth. This organization was created as an alliance of ten professional pharmacy associations offering student membership:
• The University of Minnesota American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists Chapter (APhA-ASP)
• The Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP)
• The Minnesota Pharmacists Association (MPhA)
• The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF)
• The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
• The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)
• The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP)
• The Industry Pharmacists Association (IPhO)

MPSA fosters an umbrella type organization for all of these organizations to connect and be recognized within the pharmacy community. MPSA offers growth and learning opportunities for student pharmacists by encouraging attendance at professional meetings of state and of national organizations and helps better prepare students for networking with other professionals and for future practice. MPSA also helps advance student pharmacists and our community through education and service opportunities. MPSA has student-run patient care projects that work to better the health of the members of our local communities by providing blood pressure and cholesterol checks, immunizations, information to improve health, and much more. These patient care activities and projects include:
• Operation Heart
• Operation Diabetes
• Operation Immunization
• Operation Substance Use Disorder
• Operation Reproductive Health
• Pediatric Health Initiative Group
• Over the Counter Medication Safety

Operation Reproductive Health hosted a booth at the Women’s Expo in Duluth this weekend. They focused on providing point of care testing (blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol and bone density) to the attendees of the event. It was a great way to connect with the public and get more experience interacting with patients!

Yesterday many students were able to visit the capital for Legislative Day! Pharmacists, student pharmacists, and technicians met with state legislators to discuss key priorities in pharmacy. Thank you to all participants for advocating for the pharmacy profession!💊🥼

The UMN AMCP Student Chapter is hosting the 10th Annual Midwest Regional Conference on March 6th and March 7th, 2026. The event will begin with a social hour on March 6 (location TBD in Minneapolis), followed by the conference on March 7 at Huntington Bank Stadium. This is our biggest event of the year to explore an array of topics through our speaker’s presentations and professional panel focused on managed care, which presents excellent opportunities for both students and professionals.
