Today we gathered to honor the incredible veterans within our community with a heartfelt program and a delicious meal. Our guests enjoyed BBQ ribs, baked potatoes, glazed carrots, and rolls, followed by a choice of French Silk or Berry Pie for dessert.

We were proud to recognize and honor each of our veterans, sharing their branch of service and years served—a small way to show our deep gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice.

We also included a Missing Soldier Table as a solemn reminder of those who are unable to be with us today but will never be forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Veterans Day celebration so special.

Throughout October, we collected candy donations for a special community project — and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we received 168.73 pounds of candy!

With the help of many wonderful Ecumen Lakeshore residents, we assembled 549 treat bags for the children at Lester Park Elementary. Our Life Enrichment team delivered the candy the day before Halloween so every student could enjoy a sweet treat from Ecumen.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! Thank you to all who donated and helped bag the candy — your kindness and teamwork are always so appreciated.

We held our first Ecumen Lakeshore Pumpkin Walk Rally last week, an idea inspired by our wonderful volunteer (and talented harp player) John Hinners.

Participants visited four pumpkin stations, collecting a stamp at each stop to earn a slice of delicious pumpkin pie. Along the walk, they enjoyed fun and informative pumpkin facts posted along the route.

Everyone had two hours to complete the course, and those who finished turned in their stamped pumpkin cards for a chance to win a whole pumpkin pie at the end of the event.

We’re thrilled to give a huge shoutout and congratulations to our team members who play on the Duluth East Girls Soccer Team, as well as to our very own Rehab Director Sharon Lahti and the Esko Girls Soccer Team, for making it to the State Soccer Tournament!

A special congratulations to Coach Lahti for being named Section 7A Coach of the Year—what an incredible honor!

Touching the hearts of many through his artistry at the piano, Reed Tetzloff gave a wonderful concert before departing northern Minnesota. Originally from Minneapolis and now based in New York, Reed has thrilled audiences around the world since his Lincoln Center concerto debut at Alice Tully Hall in 2012.

We were fortunate to experience his remarkable performance in the chapel at Ecumen Lakeshore. The concert was generously sponsored by Matinee Musicale.

We are so grateful for the Ecumen Lakeshore Fundraiser at the beautiful Kitchi Gammi Club!

To everyone who joined us—thank you. Your presence, energy, and heartfelt support made the evening truly special. The room was filled with joy, compassion, and a shared commitment to our mission.

We were honored to be joined by our Ecumen Hospice and Home Care teams, whose work is vital to the overall impact Ecumen has in Duluth. Their dedication and compassion play an essential role in the lives of so many in our community.

Guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks and were inspired by powerful stories about the meaningful work happening at Ecumen Lakeshore.

It was a night to celebrate hope, connection, and the power of coming together for a cause that truly matters.

Residents and guests enjoyed beer, root beer, cheese curds, brats, and sauerkraut — all the classics! The celebration was made even better with fantastic live music and polkas from Ted and Rose.

There was plenty of singing, laughter, and cheers for the beautiful fall weather — and a joyful crowd that truly enjoyed it all. Prost! 🎶🥨

We hosted our Ecumen Back to School “Lunch Lady” Luncheon!

The event celebrated all things lunch-lady themed—complete with a classic cafeteria-style sloppy joe lunch and plenty of back-to-school reminiscing. As a fun throwback, we even played the SNL “Lunch Lady Land” anthem with the video to match!

What started as a cool, cloudy day on the patio turned into a sunny afternoon filled with great music and even better company! Abe Curran treated us to wonderful live guitar music, while the scent of a campfire filled the air—and the s'mores? Absolutely delicious!
