Join us to co-create The Elephant in the Room at the Gender Joy Art Show opening this Thursday May 7 from 5-7pm

This piece connects with the theme of Gender Joy by honoring both truth and transformation. Joy isn’t just the absence of struggle it can emerge through visibility, expression, and being witnessed together.

Take part in a community-created art experience:

✨ Three Phases

1) Release
Write the words.
The messages, expectations, and double binds you’ve carried or witnessed because of your gender:
“Too emotional.”
“Be confident, but not intimidating.”
“Boys don’t cry.”
“Don’t make a scene.”

No filter. No fixing. Just truth on the canvas.

2) Reclaim
Write a new truth and layer it over the old, covering not to hide, but to transform.

3) Reimagine
Be wild and free. Add vibrant color, movement, and joy.

Together, we turn what’s been hidden into something seen, shared, and beautifully expressed. ✨

🎨 Following the event, the final piece will emerge as an elephant, holding it all, so we don’t have to carry it alone.

Come as you are. Add your voice. Be part of the transformation.
