Olivia, originally from the Twin Cities, is pursuing her degree in English at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Hoping to graduate this fall, Olivia is passionate about literature — especially poetry. She studied abroad in Scotland where she discovered a love of travel and adventure which fuels her writing and understanding of the world. In her free time Olivia likes live music, picking rocks on the lake shore, and cozying up with a good book.

Over the weekend, a small group of lawmakers broke from earlier commitments and moved forward with the legislation to fund the reopening of the government, something we all agree is urgently needed. Unfortunately, the h**p-killing ban language inserted in this funding bill remains, and it will end the h**p beverage industry as we know it.

As of today, our one remaining lifeline is that Senator Rand Paul has introduced an amendment to remove this language. The Senate could vote on the funding package at any time, so the next 24–48 hours are absolutely critical. We need everyone to make calls today and encourage your full networks to do the same!

Luna is a sophomore at Duluth East High School. She plays on their tennis team and also rows for the local Duluth Rowing Club.

Born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, Luna is the oldest of six siblings. She is very passionate about the outdoors, spending her summers camping in the Boundary Waters. Luna also enjoys hikes and taking walks with her golden retriever, Gus.
