Board Update – due to the recent resignation of long-time Director Gloria Chadwick, RN, there is a Zone 4 vacancy on the Grossmont Healthcare District’s Board of Directors, representing Alpine, Lakeside, Pine Valley, and other surrounding communities. There will be a public meeting at 9 AM on Thursday, July 17th, during which the Board will discuss options for filling the seat.

What an incredible day we had yesterday at the Genesis Recovery Grand Reopening!

We were honored to celebrate a new chapter with our community, partners, and friends. From heartfelt stories of transformation to the unveiling of our renewed space, the day was filled with hope, healing, and purpose. 💙

It’s official!

Today marked the Grand ReOpening of Genesis Recovery, Inc.—a licensed residential treatment facility in Dulzura, CA, dedicated to helping individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.

With the ribbon cut and doors open, Genesis begins a new chapter in partnership with ECTLC and others to provide Medi-Cal funded care, housing pathways, and long-term recovery solutions.

Huge thank you to our generous supporters and the County of San Diego for making this possible!

Job Announcement: AOD Counselors (LAADC, CADC)
Location: Genesis Substance Abuse Recovery, Dulzura, California 91917
Position: Counselors (Volunteer, Practicum Student, AMFT, APCC)
Compensation: Gas stipends available; additional hours and benefits may be offered

Genesis Recovery center is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as counselors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a counselor to provide support, guidance, and treatment to
individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing clients’ substance use history and treatment needs
- Developing and implementing treatment plans
- Providing individual and group counseling
- Educating clients and their families about addiction and recovery
- Helping clients develop coping strategies and relapse prevention plans
- Coordinating with other healthcare providers and support services

Requirements:
AOD counselors typically need certification from organizations such as:
- California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP)
- California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE)
- California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP)
- Or alike certifications
- Strong commitment to serving individuals in need
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team

What We Offer:
- Gas stipends to assist with transportation costs
- Opportunities for professional growth and additional hours
- Potential for benefits based on position and hours worked from $20-35 per hour

Genesis Recovery center is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as counselors.
This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers, practicum students, Associate Marriage and Family
Therapists (AMFTs), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs) looking to gain experience in
a supportive and impactful environment.

What We Offer:
- Gas stipends to assist with transportation costs
- Supervision and mentorship for AMFT and APCC candidates
- Opportunities for professional growth and additional hours
- Potential for benefits based on position and hours worked

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or completed a master’s program in counseling, psychology, social work, or
a related field
- AMFT or APCC registered (if applicable)
- Strong commitment to serving individuals in need
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
