“Meet the Robinsons” ~~
Great Plains resident, Sandra Robinson, admitted in October of this year, in need of long-term care placement. During her stay so far, she has been enjoying her therapy while making brand new friends with others who reside at Great Plains Nursing & Rehab. During the first 6 weeks of her stay, her husband of 28 years, Mr. Michael Robinson, was sure to visit his wife on multiple occasions, often enjoying a meal with his wife served by our Great Plains Dietary Team. In November, the unexpected occurred and Michael suddenly found himself needing inpatient skilled nursing care after a medical procedure. During a brief stay with one of our sister facilities in Amarillo, Mr. Michael Robinson decided that he needed to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with his wife….and our Great Plains Team was able to swiftly grant his wish the day before Thanksgiving!
Mrs. Robinson has been overjoyed since her husband’s admission to Great Plains, stating, “I had missed him so much – We had never been apart for that long!”
Sandra met Michael Robinson through her sister 30 years ago. Michael was her sister’s pastor, and Sandra was informed by her sister that she needed to meet him because, “he is wonderful and you are going to love him.” When Sandra tells this story there is a twinkle in her eye when she states, “And I did!”
Mr. Robinson is a veteran of our U.S. Air Force, serving our country for 23 years.
The Robinsons have multiple family members who live in the Dallas area, so this lighthearted couple will be needing to transfer to a different Creative Solutions facility shortly after the holidays……. but Great Plains has been truly blessed to be able to serve the Robinson’s during their time of need, no matter how long it will be~!
