!How to teach babies to read!

The Doman method is named after its creator, Glenn Doman founder of the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, a non-profit institution created with the idea of ​​making the most of the intelligence and potential for learning and creativity of babies and children from an early age.
It was an innovative method that caused quite a stir in its time, becoming pioneers in early stimulation for babies and children that until today is maintained, reaffirmed, and continues to improve thanks to the study of neurosciences.
What is the Doman Method?
The Doman method is an early stimulation method that tries to accelerate the great development potential with which gifted babies are born, ideally applied from birth to the first 6-7 years of the child.
Thanks to this method, apart from stimulating the brain development and intelligence of the child, we achieve that in the process the child learns a lot of valuable information, sometimes even making the child learn to read.
Very young babies (2 to 18 months):
In the beginning, if the baby is very small, about 2, 8 or 18 months, we have to keep in mind the limitations of the baby, in principle the "visual" that is not well developed until approximately 8 months and therefore the brain of the Baby can only be stimulated if it is the right way for him to learn to read.
One way to "prepare" the baby for "Reading" is by stimulating his sight, this can be done by "playing" with him or her in these ways:
Teaching her eye-catching toys and having her follow them with her sight, black / white striped toys can do.
Played "hide and seek" with the baby.
Put flashy rattles that encourage you to follow them with your eyes while you go from top to bottom, left to right, in diagonals, circles, etc ...
Cover a toy with a blanket and see if your baby can find it.
And finally that the letters are large and red.
Suitable size of the "Primer": 15cm x 60cm (Large).
Suitable size of the «Letters»: 12cm Height.

"I am employed part time as a technician in the hair and beauty department at Telford College, so it does give me some time not committed to work to be with the children.

"Freya is doing really well and she is quite a committed person in terms of homework and school. She has been using open resources online for different subjects and will happily go off by herself to study.

"Lawley Primary School are in constant contact with parents and are on hand if we need anything, but Oliver is not so interested in doing school work, so is slightly harder to motivate.

"However, he has really enjoyed working on BBC Bitesize where a lot of the work is interactive. But to do this, he likes to use my laptop, so then we end up sharing and its harder for me to do work as well."

Natalie said the positive out of homeschooling is the life skills children can learn from spending more time at home.

"I believe the positive out of all this is the children getting involved in what I would say is basic life skills – things like doing a bit of baking and helping out in the garden," she said.

"However, it is also hard when your kids used to be part of clubs and sports teams – Oliver is a very active child and is managing to get out and do bits of exercise with his dad thankfully.

"It is just a different environment at home for them to get used to."
