Amazing Grace Children’s Foundation is a non-profit organization that endeavours to increase accessibility to healthcare resources and services to children in Africa. The mission of Amazing Grace Children’s Foundation is to take care of every child regardless of their ability to afford health care, and to vastly improve the health status of mothers and children in Ghana. Our mission is to further reduce child mortality rates, decrease maternal mortality, and improve health education and equality for all. We have completed two medical missions within underserved regions of Ghana and believe the impact will benefit all people in their community. On our first medical mission in January 2016, we served 400 children at Ashiaman within the Tema region. On our second medical mission in January 2017, we served over 554 children in Prampram, 300 children at Harlem International School in Ofankor, and 300 children at Prampram Senior high. The free health services we provided include full physicals, s*x education seminars, pharmaceutical services, and dental work. We have been able to help prevent the spread of malaria by treating children with symptoms of the disease, and providing medications to children in the community with other forms of curable diseases. This January 2017, we have broken ground for a state of the art children’s hospital, Amazing Grace Children’s Hospital, in the town of Prampram. Our goal is to complete development of this hospital within the next 5-6 years. The hospital will have four floors, equipped with life sustaining medical equipment, which will also allow neighbouring African countries to access care for their critically ill children. We will have a conference centre to educate our nurses, and doctors in the most current evidence-based, scientific methods while working in collaboration with medical experts, and other organizations. Our organization is currently focusing on fundraising events that will aid in obtaining necessary funds to move up to next steps.
