The Core Competencies of Peer Workers & Peer Supervision

Join WV Recovers Wellbeing Mentors as we and the participants examine the application of SAMHSA's BRSS/TACS Initiative: Core Competencies of Peer Workers and discover how these skills, values and practices support the application of Peers supervising Peers.
This training offers 4 hr. Mentoring domain credit to peers and allies who have an interest in learning about how these competencies support the peer workers and peer supervisors. Credits are offered through PEER Resource Network, a WVCBAPP approved provider of peer training PEER Resource Network is a division of WV Recovers.

Participation in this series will provide Mental Health Peer Recovery Support Specialist (MH-PRSS)–specific training hours applicable toward the MH-PRSS credentialing requirements through WVCBAPP.

Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions; however, if you’re only able to attend certain days, you are still welcome to join and will receive credit for the hours you complete.

Supporting People Through Adversity is a peer support training designed to help participants build the skills, empathy, and tools needed to walk alongside individuals facing life’s challenges. Through practical strategies and recovery-oriented principles, this training empowers peers to offer meaningful support, promote resilience, and foster hope during difficult times

What is Play Therapy? 🧸

🔸Play therapy helps children explore their feelings and experiences through play.
🔸Play Therapists are trained to interpret the play activity and provide therapeutic interventions to help children cope and overcome emotional distress and trauma.

PeaceTree Center specializes in Play Therapy and are currently accepting referrals for play therapy
