World Doula Week is wrapping up, but before it's over, we wanted to take a minute to remind everyone just how important doulas are to the Birthing Community.

Doulas make a difference—emotionally, physically, and mentally—helping families feel informed, empowered, and never alone.

We are so grateful for the doulas in our community and the heart they pour into every birth story. Thank you for all that you do!💛

Tag a doula you love or share how a doula has impacted your journey!

Not every day is filled with births — some days are for sharpening skills.

Last week we spent some time reviewing shoulder dystocia management, practicing positioning techniques and communication steps.

Shoulder dystocia happens when it happens, and can occur in the birth of big AND small babies, so when it happens we have to be prepared!
Preparation builds confidence.
Practice builds calm.

We’re committed to staying sharp for the families we serve.

🍊 While We Have a Little Break in Babies Being Born…

We’ve been up to other fun 👏

Gestational diabetes (GDM) is a condition in pregnancy where hormones can affect how your body processes sugar. Screening is important because untreated blood sugar imbalances can impact both mom and baby — and early identification allows us to support healthy outcomes.

So… we’ve been exploring additional screening and monitoring options.

The Fruitful Oaks team has been personally trialing the Stelo (10 days of glucose data) and the Dexcom G7 (15 days of continuous tracking).

We were a little nervous about insertion (you can probably tell from our faces 😅)…
but it was quick, simple, and completely painless.

Once it’s on, you don’t even know it’s there.

✨ The Stelo offers 10 days of real-life glucose trends — giving a broader picture than a single time-point test.

✨ The Dexcom G7 can be especially helpful for clients managing GDM — with continuous tracking and fewer finger pokes.

We believe in trying things ourselves before offering them to our clients.

If you’re interested in using the Stelo for your upcoming glucose screening, reach out to us for more information — we’re happy to talk through your options and see what might be the best fit for your pregnancy 💛

Informed choice. Thoughtful care. Always.
