I feel I have entered the twilight zone.

First Mental Health Providers are working for free and hoping this managed care fiasco gets lined out. I have personally have not received a pay check for any Medicaid services since March 1 because the Health Care Authority sat on my contract until April 11th. April 1 Manged care kicked in so providers if they are getting paid are being paid at an incredibly reduced rate. Me personally have seen one $75 check for Medicaid since this fiasco.

So, yes there is already a huge shortage of health care providers in the state and now providers are quitting Medicaid clients because who can survive on working for free hoping things work out?

Also, I haven’t looked to see who the legislators were that wrote this atrocity of a bill SB36. But I am telling you anyone can call themselves a Chaplain and that puts your children in public school at danger of being perpetrated on.

I am a Christian and have dedicated my life to serving others and have worked very hard for my licenses and certifications. I am blessed and my God has taken care of me and provided for me.

However, I do not appreciate our legislation undermining the education, dedication, and qualifications of Mental Health providers in the State of Oklahoma.

As quite few of you know at my office we have a Day Treatment program.
This program is for kiddos that find it difficult to be in the regular classroom. We provide help with their education, teach social skills, and lunch. During COVID Duncan Public Schools provided lunches. That funding ceased so;
Last year Duncan Regional Hospital was gracious and provided lunch everyday to our program. We are more than grateful for their service to our community.
We have 12 kids that are enrolled. They attend 4 days a week. If you have any ideas or suggestions to provide these kids lunch let me know. I feel like it would be amazing if Daycares or Churches would provide 1-2 lunches a week or monthly to make sure these kids get a good lunch. These students if they were enrolled in Duncan Public schools would receive free or reduced lunches. I am looking forward to seeing how Duncan can step up and help these kids.
Thank you!!
Message me or comment if you are willing to help or have ideas for me!
