Dr. Elisa Quintana Oronoz joins the BayCare Medical Group family medicine practice at 180 Patricia Drive in Dunedin where she sees patients age 18 and older. She is board certified in internal medicine and treats medical issues that include ear infections, cough, colds, chronic illnesses, rashes and pneumonia, provides medical clearance exams and performs blood pressure checks. She reviews important information with her patients regarding weight management and immunizations and provides presurgical consultations.

Dr. Quintana Oronoz earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Central University of Venezuela/Jose Maria Vargas Medical School in Caracas, Venezuela, and completed an internal medicine residency at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Quintana Oronoz speaks Spanish.

As summer winds down and students head back to school, we’re sending a big THANK YOU to our amazing teen volunteers at Mease Dunedin Hospital! ☀️🎒

From greeting patients with a smile to helping our teams behind the scenes, these teens brought energy, kindness and hard work to every corner of our hospital. With rave reviews across the board, staff called them “awesome” and “outstanding” – and we couldn’t agree more!

Our Summer Teen Volunteer Program gives students ages 14–18 a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community while gaining real-world experience in a hospital setting. Over the course of the summer, they build confidence, develop leadership skills and get a first glimpse into health care and customer service environments.

Many of our teens return year after year, and several go on to pursue careers in health care, service or community leadership.

We’re so proud of the difference our teen volunteers made this summer – and we hope to see them back next year! 💫💙

We are proud to be nationally recognized by for our commitment to providing research-based, high-quality stroke care. Our hospital has been awarded the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus achievement. In fact, all of BayCare’s eligible hospitals received a Get With The Guidelines achievement award! We are so excited to have our teen volunteers on campus this summer! Their welcoming smiles and abundance of energy make the hospital a little brighter. The teens, age 14-17, spend at least four hours a week doing various jobs across our campus. Thanks to all of them for giving their time to us and our patients this summer.

Check out what took place at our hospital campus this week! Local 7th and 8th grade students had a blast learning all about health care at Diane Rauch Camp Nurse Jr. The camp kicked off Wednesday and concluded Friday. Over three days, the group was immersed in a variety of hands-on experiences, from performing mock laparoscopic procedures on manikins in our OR to practicing occupational therapy techniques to viewing a pig's heart. We also had a session with Dunedin Fire Rescue. A great time was had by all!

We are excited to announce that BayCare and Northwestern Medicine and its Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine are entering a strategic collaboration that will expand access to advanced medical treatments, enhance clinical research and improve training and education for current and future physicians in West Central Florida.

Through this collaboration, marking a major milestone in our efforts to grow as an academic health system, we will integrate new educational and training opportunities for health care professionals that will enhance the quality of care available close to home for West Central Florida residents, leading to better patient experiences and improved public health outcomes.
