Today we celebrate every goofy grin, every slobbery kiss, every happy tail wag, and every quiet snuggle that makes life brighter. Dogs remind us daily what unconditional love really looks like. They’re our protectors, playmates, comedians, and constant companions.

At Tampa Bay Animal Hospitals, we’re especially grateful for the dogs we’re proud to call family, some of whom you’ll see pictured here! These furry faces are a part of our story, and we couldn’t imagine our days without them.

Giselle and her pup Lilo are here to show you how to properly fit a life jacket on your canine best friend and why it matters. A few simple steps can help your dog stay safe and happy in the water, whether you're headed to the beach, lake, or pool.

Here’s what to keep in mind for your next aquatic adventure:

✅ Use a lifejacket: Even strong swimmers can tire or panic unexpectedly.

💧 Bring fresh water & a bowl: Avoid salt or lake water consumption.

☀️ Apply pet-safe sunscreen: Especially for light-colored or short-haired pups.

👀 Supervise at all times: Stay close and keep your eyes on them.

🐾 Watch for fatigue: Signs like heavy panting or slow paddling mean it's time for a break.

🚿 Rinse off after swimming: Helps protect their coat from salt, chlorine, or algae.

🌴 Offer shady rest breaks: Keep cool and hydrated between playtime.

🐶 Be sure to clean those ears! Follow your dog's swim with a thorough ear cleaning to prevent infections.

Astro the cat recently stopped by for his checkup. He gave the treat service and stress-free environment a five-star review. And Luna, 19 weeks of pure fabulousness, was spotted striking a pose and patiently waiting on the lobby couch for Dr. Riley. Style, grace, and just a hint of sass, Caladesi regulars know how to make an entrance.
