🎭💜💛💚 Mardi Gras at The Waters of Dunkirk! 💚💛💜🎭

We brought the spirit of New Orleans right to The Waters of Dunkirk with a festive Mardi Gras celebration! Residents enjoyed a delicious bowl of gumbo for lunch, followed by a sweet slice of King Cake for dessert — a true Mardi Gras tradition. 👑🍰

Beads and colorful masks were passed out so everyone could dress the part and join in the fun! ✨

Valentine’s Day at The Waters of Dunkirk! ❤️

Love was in the air as we celebrated our wonderful residents and crowned our Valentine’s royalty! 👑

Congratulations to our King David and Queen Martha — you both wear your crowns beautifully! 💖 Thank you for bringing so much joy, kindness, and heart to our community.

A big thank you to Robert Farmer for entertaining us!

Today we made a sweet pink treat during our cooking corner to enjoy! Strawberry puppy chow. We loved it so much we want to share the recipe!

4 cups of strawberry vanilla Chex cereal
1 cup white chocolate chips8 oz of freeze-dried strawberries
1/3 cup powdered sugar

1. In a large bowl, add cereal. Set aside.

2. In a small bowl, microwave white chocolate chips for 30 seconds, stir. Microwave for additional 30 second increments until chips are melted and smooth. Pour chocolate over cereal and stir carefully to fully cover but not break the cereal. Pour cereal mixture into a large gallon size plastic bag.

3. Grind your freeze-dried strawberries into a powder. (we used a rolling pin and it worked just fine 😊)

4. Pour ground strawberry powder and confectioner's sugar over cereal and seal bag. Shake to evenly coat cereal.

5. Put your baggie into the fridge for 10-15 minutes and let the chocolate harden. Then enjoy!

We also had so much fun recently baking chocolate cupcakes and decorating them for Valentine’s Day.🧁💘

Our Lunch-Ins are about so much more than just good food — they’re about building friendships and creating special bonds together. 🍽️💛

Our Ladies had loads of fun and lots of flavor at their last Lunch-In! This month, they chose a delicious menu of tater tot casserole, buttery biscuits, and brownies.

Not to be outdone, our Men’s Lunch-In was the perfect cure for a cold day. We warmed up with chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, and cookies — a hearty meal and even heartier conversations.

Our residents have decorated their envelopes beautifully and are ready to fill them with valentine goodies! We’re still accepting Valentines, so there’s still time to brighten someone’s day. Stop by today or pop one in the mail for a lovely surprise for our residents!
