A Neurolens Testimony – A Story Close to Home

For most of her adult life, this woman had a familiar role whenever her family traveled: the navigator. Phone in hand, eyes on maps and messages, helping her husband get everyone where they needed to go.

But there was a cost.

Within minutes of reading in the car—especially in the back seat—the motion sickness would set in. Nausea. Head pressure. That awful, unsettled feeling that lingers long after the car stops. By the time they arrived at their destination, she was usually done for the day—content to sit, rest, and let everyone else enjoy the trip.

Then she discovered Neurolens at Boyd Family Eyecare.

Fast forward to a family vacation to Orlando to see “the Mouse.” 🚗📱
Something unexpected happened on the drive.

She was reading her phone.
In the back seat.
Navigating.
Comfortably.

No nausea. No dizziness. No need to shut her eyes and wait for the feeling to pass.

She barely noticed it at first—until they arrived.

Instead of her usual routine of needing to rest, she surprised everyone by saying, “Hey… let’s go to Topgolf.”

Silence.

Her family looked at her like, Who are you and what have you done with my wife and mom?

After a few laughs and some puzzled looks, they started asking the obvious question: What was different about this trip?

Same car.
Same roads.
Same phone.
Same Orlando.

The only difference?

She was wearing Neurolens.

That was the moment it truly clicked—this wasn’t coincidence. Neurolens had addressed the visual misalignment that had been triggering her motion sickness for years. For the first time, her eyes and brain were finally working together in motion.

And now for the big reveal…

👉 That woman was Dr. Lori Boyd of Boyd Family Eyecare.

Even as an eye doctor, she experienced firsthand how profoundly untreated visual misalignment can affect daily life—and how life-changing the right solution can be.

Neurolens didn’t just make a vacation more enjoyable.
It gave her energy back.
Comfort back.
And freedom she didn’t realize she’d been missing.

If motion sickness, eye strain, or discomfort has been holding you back—maybe your story is waiting to be rewritten too.

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month

Glaucoma is often called the “Silent Thief of Sight” — and for good reason.
Most people with glaucoma have no early symptoms, yet it can cause permanent vision loss if left untreated.

The good news?
✅ Early detection through routine eye exams can protect your sight.
Glaucoma can often be managed when caught early — before vision is lost.

If you or a loved one are over 40, have a family history of glaucoma, diabetes, or high eye pressure, regular eye exams are especially important.

📅 This January, take a moment to protect your vision.
Your eyes are worth it.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Boyd Family Eyecare 🎄

On this Christmas Day, we pause with grateful hearts to celebrate the true gift of the season—the birth of Jesus Christ. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

As we reflect on God’s love made known through His Son, we are reminded that Christmas is about hope, grace, and light entering a dark world. It is our prayer that the peace of Christ fills your home, strengthens your faith, and renews your joy today and in the year ahead.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your family. We are deeply thankful for the trust you place in us and for the relationships we share with our patients and community.

From our family to yours, may you know the blessing of Christmas and the abiding presence of Emmanuel—God with us.

Merry Christmas,
Boyd Family Eyecare

🎄 Diabetes, the Holidays, and Your Eye Health 👁️

The holidays bring celebration—and often extra challenges for managing diabetes. Higher blood sugar levels, even for short periods, can damage the tiny blood vessels in the retina and increase the risk of diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of vision loss.

Staying mindful during the holidays truly matters.

Simple ways to protect your vision:
• Check blood sugar regularly
• Enjoy holiday foods in moderation
• Stay active
• Take medications as prescribed
• Keep up with yearly dilated eye exams

Diabetic retinopathy often has no early warning signs, making prevention and routine eye care essential.

🎁 This holiday season, give your eyes the gift of good health.

If you have diabetes and it’s been a while since your last eye exam, the team at Boyd Family Eyecare is here for you.
