Just another day picking garlic flower buds. Only my second favorite time of year. Just before my favorite time of year. Even after 16 years, some things never get old, like my love for garlic, it just keeps growing!

Farm Update 🌱

Hi friends,

It’s been a long while since we’ve shown up here.

When we stepped away from Brown Dirt Farm, we were ready for a change. We sold our equipment and crops, packed up our lives, and moved to Colorado to try something new for a season.

That season ended up lasting quite a bit longer than we expected.

We both found our way into the landscape industry, where we built careers and learned a lot along the way. Eventually, life brought us back to Tennessee, where Scott started his irrigation business, Water Color Irrigation, and I continued working in commercial landscaping.

More recently, we were able to purchase 5 acres here in Jasper, something we had dreamed about for a long time. Over the past several months, we’ve been slowly working the land again in a different way… putting in a garden, making trails, and creating a space that feels peaceful and rooted.

While a lot has changed, our love for the land and this lifestyle hasn’t gone anywhere.

Alongside all of this, life has taken me on a more personal journey too. Over the years, I found myself wanting to slow down and reconnect, which led me into practices like yoga, meditation, and eventually Reiki.

What started as something just for me has grown into something I now feel called to share with others. I’ve recently stepped away from my corporate role in the landscape industry, and am now focusing on my healing practice, Resonate Roots.

It’s different from the farm, but in many ways, it’s still about care, connection, and supporting growth… just in a new form.

We won’t be back at markets anytime soon, but we are looking forward to being more active here again, sharing pieces of the land, the garden, and this next chapter.

We’re really glad to be back, and grateful you’re still here with us 🤍

This is 11 years now harvesting our Music Garlic, and it still feels like digging up buried treasure. If you took the opportunity last year to get some of this amazing product for the last time, thank you for helping us grow. The investments of our patrons collectively enabled our small farm to be created from literally nothing and succeed. That seems like a rare thing these days. We could not be more grateful for the opportunity you provided us with your support and enthusiasm. To our customers, fellow farmers, families, friends, and followers, thank you!
