Another uplifting week at Marywood Heights. We celebrated with Marywood Students spreading joy by handing out flowers to all the residents for kindness day. We ended the week with a beautiful and spiritually renewing Palm Sunday Mass.

Meet Valentina Bindo, a Marywood Heights Licensed Practical Nurse since February 2024! She recently celebrated her first-year anniversary! Val is a true team player - empathetic, reliable, proactive and patient-focused. She raises the bar with her knowledge, compassion and kindness towards our residents and fellow employees. Val graduated from CTC of Lackawanna County and has been an LPN for over 13 years. Her greatest accomplishment is becoming a mom to her son, Nicholas. Her favorite part of working at Marywood Heights is our great team and having the best residents. Val can speak two languages, enjoys spending time with her family and loves going to the beach. We are more than excited to celebrate her dedication and knowledge to our team. Thank you, Val!!

Meet Marion Callis, a Marywood Heights Certified Nurse Assistant since 2003! For over 22 years, she has dedicated her career to providing essential care, compassion and empathy towards the needs of our residents and their families. Her hard work, dedication and selfless care not only enhance the well-being of our resident’s daily lives but also exemplify her as a true role model towards her fellow co-workers. She is a true team leader. Some fun facts about Marion – She loves a clean car! She cleans her car inside and out multiple times a week. Her best friend is her cat, Allie. She enjoys the beach, vacations, fishing, yard work and long adventurous road trips. Most of all, she enjoys when her residents smile while she walks in their rooms. We are more than excited to celebrate her dedication to our team. Thank you, Marion!

Happy Chinese New Year! Sister Mary inspired residents with a culinary demonstration, showcasing her technique for crafting homemade egg rolls and savory pork fried rice. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the cafe to share a delightful dinner together, savoring the delicious flavors.
