The Lord is my Shepherd

Psalm 23 is arguably the most popular psalm in the Book of Psalms. It begins, “The Lord is my Shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.”

The image of God as shepherd can be found in several places throughout the Bible. Noteably, the prophet Ezekiel expresses God’s care for his people in terms of a shepherd taking care of his sheep. Ezekiel 34 recounts God saying He will gather and heal and strengthen and teach and lead His people. And in the Gospel of John, Chapter 10, Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd similarly providing for His followers.

Psalm 23, Ezekiel 34, and John 10 are three Bible passages to read to inspire confidence that God will always be there for us, no matter how bad things seem to be in the world.

We do well to continue quoting Psalm 23, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.”

We recently sat down and had a candid discussion with Martie M. about her transition from field work to a position in our office.

Here is a small piece of her interview:

Can you tell us about your journey as an LPN before joining the office team at Traditional?

Prior to joining the office team, I worked in home care for about five years. I cared for pediatric patients, school-aged children, and adults. I truly enjoyed the work and felt that I was making a real difference in people’s lives. Despite Traditional’s flexible scheduling, I needed to change positions due to personal obligations. I was lucky to find an open position at the Drinker St. office.

You can read the full interview on our website: https://www.traditionalhomehealthcare.com/staff-interview-martie-m/

Thanks to Martie and all of our hard working staff out in the field and in our office!

Our hearts are with the family and friends of Mary Alice Morgan Dudeck, who passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Survived by her four loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, Mary Alice leaves behind a beautiful legacy.

At Traditional Hospice, we were honored to walk alongside Mary and her family during her final weeks—especially through the compassionate care provided by Nurse Kayla and our entire hospice team.

The Greatest Commandment

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a scholar of the law, tested him by asking, "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"

He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."
(Matthew 22: 34-40)

Congratulations to our Home Health division on earning an SHPBest Patient Experience Superior Performer award. We know their nurses, therapists, aides and admin staff work hard to provide the best care for their patients.

Congratulations!

🏆Traditional Home Health has earned the 2024 SHPBest “Superior Performer” Patient Satisfaction Award! 🏆

Traditional Home Health has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Superior Performer” for achieving an overall patient satisfaction score that ranked in the top 20% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2024 calendar year.

The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge home health agencies that consistently provide high quality service to their patients. The 2024 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall experience score for more than 3,200 home health providers. With the largest HHCAHPS benchmark in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made patient experience a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the HHCAHPS survey.

Traditional is proud to earn this achievement and thanks our staff who works so hard every day providing the best home health care they can to our patients.
