🕯️ The Face They Tried to Erase — and Never Could.
His name was Aron Löwi.
A Jewish merchant from the quiet Polish town of Zator.
He was 62 — old enough to have lived a full life, young enough to still dream of peace.
A husband. A neighbor. A man who once mattered to someone.
But on March 5, 1942, his name became a number — 26406 — and his story was swallowed by Auschwitz.
When they photographed him at the camp’s entrance, you can still see it — the bruises, the hollow eyes, the quiet disbelief.
Pinned to his striped uniform were symbols meant to reduce him to nothing:
🟡 a yellow star for his faith,
🔺 a red triangle for his defiance.
Because even existing, for some, was defiance.
He lasted five days.
From March 5th to March 10th.
No record. No grave. No goodbye.
Just another name erased from the paperwork of horror.
And yet… his face remains.
A single photograph that outlived his captors.
A silent proof that memory is stronger than hate.
Every time we look at Aron Löwi, the machine that tried to erase him loses — again.
Because remembrance is resistance.

It's time for strawberries! We will be opening for picking Thursday, June 5th from 8am to 12pm. Friday 6/6, we will be open 8am to 12pm. We are closed Saturday 6/7 due to rain. Starting Sunday 6/8 and for the rest of strawberry season, we will be open 8am to 5pm, Tuesdays to Sundays, closed on Mondays. We are starting picking at 116 Dry Creek Lane in Noxen, please drive all the way to the back field to park. The picking will be light in the first few days until more varieties ripen.

Berries are $2.50/lb for pick your own and the season should last three weeks or so. Bring a container to pick into and get it weighed before picking at the little red building or if you don't bring your own container, you can buy a quart basket or bucket to pick. Please check the latest Facebook post, our website or call the answering machine 570-298-0962 to get updates on picking quality, location and hours through the season!

Rhubarb is available to pick while we are open for berries, ask at the register and we can point you to it for picking! It is $2.15 per pound.
