The VMS Home Oxygen family has joined VGM and associates (membership service organization). VGM and associates will help build our business to greater serve our surrounding areas. VGM is a business that provides the most comprehensive Member Service Organization for post-acute healthcare including DME/HME, Respiratory, Sleep, Wound Care, Complex Rehab, Women's Health, Home Modifications, and Orthotics and Prosthetics. We are excited to start this journey with our many colleagues available to help our business 24/7. Hurricane Season Preparation

Get Prepared
June kicks off the start of Hurricane Season 2022. It's important to take precautions and always be prepared for power outages, floods, or natural disasters. Especially something as unpredictable as a Hurricane. These concerns are heightened if you rely on home respiratory equipment such as: portable oxygen, nebulizer or CPAP machines. You want to make sure you have all of the essentials and backup items you may need. It's always good to have extra equipment and/or supplies in case you aren't able to get in contact with personnel due to weather. As a home respiratory provider, we are acutely aware of what patients deal with as they prepare for the months ahead. Below we have listed some tips to keep you and your family safe.

Tips on how to be Storm Ready

1. Charge up all batteries before a storm for all Medical devices and cellular devices.
2. If you own a CPAP, stock up on necessary supplies. Order masks, filters, tubing or cushions as soon as possible.
3. Do you rely on portable oxygen equipment? Use up portable tanks first in the event of a power outage. Check and fill up backup tanks before the storm hits. If you do lose power and all tanks are empty, please call your Oxygen provider immediately. We are always available for Emergency situations ONLY.
4. Make sure you have working flashlights with batteries, emergency candles, should you navigate in the dark. If using oxygen, be sure to keep a safe distance from open flames. Have bottled water, gas jugs, and Fill up your gas tanks for your vehicles, or have a family member or neighbor on stand by incase you need to evacuate.
5. If using incontinence supplies, make sure you have enough to last a few days. Do not wait until you run out to order more supplies, especially when a storm is forecasted.
