Your microbiome is like a garden. 🌷🌻🌷

The flowers are the beneficial bacteria we want growing there.

They help make neurotransmitters for you, support your immune system, and keep things running smoothly.

The weeds creep in when the flowers are no longer thick, healthy, and resilient.

That can happen from repeated antibiotics, chronic stress, inflammatory foods, or long-standing infections.

The good bacteria get depleted.

The weeds take over.

How do you know this might be happening to you?

If you keep dealing with recurring infections like:

🌷 UTIs🌷 Sinus infections🌷 Skin issues🌷 Yeast infections🌷 Ear infections

Maybe you keep ending up on another round of antibiotics.

At that point, it may be more than just bad luck.

It may be a sign your gut microbiome is out of balance.

An overrun gut garden can look like:

🌻 Bloating
🌻 Fatigue
🌻 Brain Fog
🌻 Inconsistent bowel movements
🌻 Gas

And a body that keeps getting stuck in the same cycle.

I had a client who came to me with recurring UTIs after being on antibiotics on and off for a long time.

Stool testing showed opportunistic bacterial overgrowth and low beneficial flora.

Her gut garden was overrun with weeds.

We made a plan to clear the weeds and regrow her flowers.

She hasn’t had a UTI since.

If you are stuck in a cycle of recurring infections and temporary fixes, there may be a deeper reason.

Client win!

This client is an attorney and a mom of two.

By the time she found me, she had already tried everything she could think of and everything her doctors could think of, too.

She had been diagnosed with methane-dominant SIBO or IMO.

She had eaten low FODMAP.

She had done multiple rounds of antibiotics.

She had seen doctors and gastroenterologists.

She was still chronically constipated.
Still painfully bloated.
Still uncomfortable in her body and in her clothes.

When you have tried everything and you still don’t feel better, it’s easy to lose hope.

You start to wonder if this is just how your body is now.

This client’s story is proof that healing is possible even in the most challenging situations.

After our work together she has regular bowel movements after years of hard, pebble-like stools and chronic constipation.

She has less bloating.
No pain.
Food freedom.
And she feels comfortable in her clothes again.

Healing is possible.

You can eat all the healthy foods and still feel bloated and constipated.

That does not automatically mean you are doing food wrong.

Sometimes the issue is not the food at all.

Sometimes it is how your digestive system is handling the food.

How your digestive organs are functioning beneath the surface.

🥗 Low stomach acid.
🥗 Low pancreatic enzymes.
🥗 Sluggish bile.
🥗 Bacterial overgrowth.
🥗 Inflammation.
🥗 Leaky gut.

These are some of the deeper issues I look at when someone feels like she is doing everything right and is still bloated, backed up, and uncomfortable.

This is also why eating cleaner or cutting out more foods is not typically the answer.

Eating healthy is often overcomplicated.

Long recipes.

Too many ingredients.

Too much time.

That’s not what supports your gut.

What matters is building meals with structure, nutrient density and that are realistic in the time that you have.

I always want protein, fats, and carbohydrates at every meal.

This can be as simple as a one sheet pan dinner:

1️⃣ Chop sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts.

2️⃣ Toss with avocado oil, salt, and pepper.

3️⃣ Season chicken legs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried rosemary.

4️⃣ Bake everything at 400°F until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are soft.

Prep takes 5–10 minutes.

Then pop it in the oven.

After you’ll have a knife, cutting board and a pan to wash.

Not a sink full of dishes.

You can go do something else while it’s cooking.

That’s it.

Carbohydrates from the sweet potatoes.

Fiber and micronutrients from the brussels sprouts.

Protein from the chicken.

Fat from the avocado oil.

Simple.

Balanced.

Repeatable.

This is the foundation.

From here, we fine-tune based on your digestion, food sensitivities, and flavor preferences.

If you’re trying to eat “healthy” but feeling overwhelmed, it’s not about finding more recipes.

It’s about sticking to the foundations and simplifying the process.

Most people approach meals by asking:

“What’s healthy?”

“What should I be eating?”

This leads to feeling restricted right from the start.

Instead ask:

“What sounds good?”

Start with the flavors.

🌮 If you’re craving Mexican:

Use cumin, garlic, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

🥙 If you’re craving Mediterranean:

Use lemon, olive oil, red wine vinegar, dill, oregano, and parsley.

🍛 If you’re craving stir fry or curry-style flavors:

Use garlic, ginger, tamari, coconut milk, green onions, curry paste, or chili flakes.

Then build your meal from there:

Protein, fats, and carbohydrates.

This might look like:

A taco bowl with ground beef, rice, beans, tomato, lettuce, salsa, and avocado.

A Greek salad with garlic herb chicken, kalamata olives, cucumber, red onion, feta goat cheese, red wine vinegar and olive oil.

Or a simple curry with chicken, cabbage, potatoes, and coconut milk.

Same structure.

Same nutritional benefits.

Different flavors.

This is what makes eating “healthy” sustainable.

Not restrictive.

Not boring.

If you’re eating “healthy” but feeling restricted or like it all tastes the same,

It’s about understanding how to flavor meals that actually taste good and serve your body at the same time.

That’s what we do inside my 6-Month Gut Restoration Program.

One of the most common questions I get on discovery calls is:

“Can I just run the GI-MAP stool test?”

The assumption is that the results will show exactly how to fix the gut.

The test is helpful.

But the results are not the solution.

They are the starting point.

When I review a GI-MAP stool test, I’m looking for patterns like:

🧪 H. pylori
🧪 Low levels of beneficial bacteria
🧪 Bacterial, yeast, or parasitic overgrowth
🧪 Low digestive enzymes or poor fat digestion
🧪 Signs of gut immune stress

This tells us what’s happening in the gut.

But information alone does not resolve symptoms.

The real work happens after the results.

Inside my 6-Month Gut Restoration Program, we use the data to build a personalized plan.

Then we work through it together.

We implement the protocol.

Adjust supplements and food.

Monitor symptoms.

Troubleshoot die-off if needed.

Rebuild digestion and daily habits.

Gut healing doesn’t happen overnight.

It happens through consistent, guided adjustments over time.

That’s why we meet bi-weekly to refine the plan based on how your body is responding.

The GI-MAP gives us direction. 📈

Results come from what we do with that information.

If you’ve already tried stool testing and still feel stuck,

it’s likely because you didn’t have a clear plan for what to do with the results.

The 6-Month Gut Restoration Program includes that plan and the guidance to carry it out.

You eat eggs for breakfast.
Ten minutes later your stomach feels tight and bloated.

So you assume eggs are the problem.

You stop eating eggs.

A week later the same thing happens after yogurt.

So you stop eating yogurt.

Then it happens after a salad.

Now you start wondering if raw vegetables are the issue.

So you cut those too.

Before long you are analyzing every meal and asking yourself:

“Which food is doing this?”

Most people interpret that pattern as a food sensitivity.

If you bloat after eggs, eggs must be the trigger.
If you bloat after yogurt, dairy must be the problem.

If you bloat after a salad, raw vegetables must be the issue.

Sometimes that is true.

But more often the real problem is that digestion itself is not working well.

If your stomach acid is low or you are not producing enough digestive enzymes, food is harder to break down.

When that happens, even a simple meal can leave your stomach bloated and uncomfortable.

So instead of guessing which food to eliminate next, when I’m working with a new client we start by gathering information and solving the puzzle.

A GI-MAP stool test gives us information about digestive enzyme production and what is happening in the microbiome.

MRT food sensitivity testing helps identify inflammatory reactions to specific foods.

With clear data from testing we can see which symptoms are coming from poor digestion and which are true food sensitivities.

Once we understand why the bloating is happening, we can build a plan to resolve it.

If you’ve been cutting foods with no clear answers, I can help.

A Gut Health Discovery Call is the first step in figuring out what is actually causing your bloating.

When a new client starts working with me, they often feel like every food causes a reaction. 🚨

They’re bloated.

Inflamed.

Puffy.

They eat a healthy meal and still feel bloated, tired and spacey afterward.

So they start eliminating foods.

First gluten. 🥖🍞🥐
Then dairy. 🧀🍦🍕

Then eggs. 🍳🪺🥚

Then almonds. 😥

Before long, they’re left wondering what’s safe to eat.

This is one reason I use the MRT food sensitivity test in my practice.

Instead of guessing which foods might be contributing to symptoms, this test measures inflammatory reactions to 170+ foods and food chemicals.

This information helps us get clear on what foods are contributing to an immune response and which are just difficult to digest.

From there, we can temporarily remove reactive foods while we work on deeper gut healing.

The plan is not to eliminate these foods forever.

The goal is to reduce inflammation, calm the immune system, and create an environment where the body can heal.

Food sensitivities are rarely the entire story, but they can absolutely contribute to symptoms like bloating, headaches, fatigue, and digestive discomfort.

If you’ve been playing food elimination roulette and still feel stuck, let’s talk about what may be going on.

“You just have IBS.”

This is a phrase many people hear after years of digestive symptoms.

And technically, IBS is a real medical diagnosis.

But it’s a diagnosis based on symptoms, not on identifying the root cause.

IBS simply means someone is experiencing things like:

🚑 Bloating
🚑 Constipation
🚑 Diarrhea
🚑 Abdominal pain

It doesn’t explain why those symptoms are happening or what to do about them.

And that’s not your doctor’s fault.

Physicians are trained to rule out serious disease and manage symptoms using the tools available in conventional medicine.

But many of the clients I work with were told they “just have IBS” before we discovered deeper contributors like microbiome imbalances, food sensitivities, or infections such as H. pylori.

Symptoms are information.

And in many cases, there is more to the story.

Were you ever told you ‘just have IBS’?”

Drop a yes/no in the comments or tell me what your experience was. 👇

Your stool provides valuable clues about your digestive health.

Changes in stool form, frequency, or appearance can reflect how well your digestive system is functioning.

Hard pellets or straining are often associated with dehydration, low fiber intake, and constipation.

Seeing undigested food in stool may suggest food is not being fully broken down.

Loose or urgent stool may indicate irritation, food sensitivities, or imbalance in the gut microbiome.

What we ultimately want to see aka a gold star p**p ⭐

💩 Medium brown.
💩 Smooth.
💩 Easy to pass.
💩 One to two bowel movements per day.

Yes, every day.

When I’m evaluating digestive health, stool patterns provide some of the most helpful clues.

Because changes in stool are signals.

Not something you simply have to work around.

When you’re not feeling well, it’s completely understandable to look for answers anywhere you can find them.

Maybe you’ve already tried talking to your doctor and didn’t get answers.

Maybe you’ve tried changing your diet, taking supplements, or following advice you found online.

But you’re still dealing with symptoms so you turn to ChatGPT.

You type in what’s been going on.

It gives you an explanation that sounds detailed and confident.

It can feel like you’ve finally figured it out.

The issue is that AI tools generate responses based on patterns in information.

They don’t actually know whether what they’re telling you is correct for your body.

Sometimes they even generate information that sounds convincing but is flat out wrong.

That’s called an AI hallucination.

When you’re already feeling frustrated and just want relief, it’s easy to cling to an explanation that seems to make sense.

But understanding what’s actually driving your symptoms and what to do about them, requires more than a late night AI chat session.

It requires context and critical thinking.

Your health history.
Your symptom patterns.
And often, functional testing.

If you’re struggling with digestive symptoms and finding yourself asking ChatGPT for answers,

I invite you to book a Gut Health Discovery Call instead.

During this call, we’ll talk through your health history and the symptoms you’ve been experiencing.

I’ll share what I suspect may be contributing to your symptoms and the functional testing I would recommend to get clearer answers.

We’ll talk about what working together inside my 6-Month Gut Restoration Program looks like and decide whether it feels like the right next step for you.
