Durango Primary Care is seeking a front office assistant.

Looking for someone interested in working in a small independent primary care office. Job duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, receiving medication refills and maintaining patient records. Healthcare or office experience preferred but not required.

As I tell my children - it takes two to fight. CommonSpirit is accusing Anthem of putting greed before patient care while attempting to increase their reimbursement to more than double the rate of inflation. CommonSpirit’s reimbursement rates are already some of the highest in Colorado.

ER rates at their mountain and rural facilities are 232 % higher than others. ER rates at CommonSpirit Front Range facilities are 45 % higher than all other nearby health systems and CommonSpirit’s St Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco is the most expensive hospital in the state.

When both sides are forced to play nice, it will likely increase out-of-pocket and premium costs for Anthem members, who will ultimately bear the brunt of healthcare gone wrong.

If this strikes you as ridiculous, vote with your feet. Look in to direct primary care: we skip insurance and work for our patients, not your insurance company or a national hospital chain. Local, affordable, with integrity.

We are a success story! This is old news but the Small Business Development Center has been on my mind a lot lately. I have a lot of gratitude for this FREE service that made such a big difference for me, my staff and my patients. This is a concise description of what we did and why, with only one exception: direct primary care IS different than concierge medicine. We are not a clinic that caters strictly to wealthy people that can afford large fees. We are cheaper than your phone plan, in most cases much cheaper. We take care of many patients without insurance who would be left behind by the healthcare system and many others WITH insurance who have been left behind nonetheless with frequent P*P changes, short, inadequate visits and expensive co-pays for basic services.
