Hello my loves!!! IM BACK! ✨️❤️

Sorry I've been MIA for so long, so much has been happening since I've been on here last!

For example just a few big changes...

✨️ I moved to a new city
✨️ Became a preschool teacher
✨️ I've been growing another baby girl 🩷 due April 2nd!

I'm going to be taking another break to birth and bond with my new baby, but I miss talking about maternal nutrition and breastfeeding! So I'm going to try to make a couple of posts when I can while I prepare to build up my new clientele here in Colorado Springs.

My class on 8/31 went so good!
I got to meet 4 beautiful mamas, a couple of their partners (the others had to work) 💕. I loved meeting you all and im so grateful for the learning experience.

We talked about mindfulness, breathing techniques, creating a relaxing environment, and shared our anxiety about the journey of pregnancy and birth! My hope is that we continue to share with eachother our trials and triumphs and create another resource of support.

I love the world of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and just being able to support women! I cant wait to teach more of these classes and to grow in this field!

I am HONORED so many of you want to take my class! Unfortunatley the requests I recieved let me know this date wouldn't work for them. So I will continue to offer private classes and announce a new group date SOON 🤍

Im sure you've seen those post where women are pumping ounces and ounces everytime they pump. This is not what most women are producing, this is OVERPRODUCTION!

🌸 Mom's milk production and the baby's suckling coordination almost always regulate over time. Both are adjusting to what rhythm is going to work best for them!

🌸 Overproduction doesn't always feel like a "blessing". Yes producing a lot of milk is great.... but it can also be annoying to deal with the constant leaking, possible engorgement, and may cause difficulties with feeding the baby.

🌸 Stay tuned next week for ideas on what to do with the extra milk you have!

🌸 As always, if please dont compare your breastfeeding/milk production journey to others- or even yourself! Every woman, every baby, and every pregnancy is different. We're in this together and we all just need support 💕

✨50 FOLLOWERS!️✨️

I know that doesn't seem like a lot but I am SO EXCITED! I graduated at the end of April and started my business the end of May, slowly but surely Im getting "there"!

Working for myself has been very discouraging at times, a lot of un-paid work, and im realizing I need a lot of patience..

Thank you guys for following me and giving me the confidence to keep educating and supporting growing families!

This week's nutrition facts are focusing on some of the micronutrients that are provided to baby through maternal intake!

🌿 You can find this information and more on the National Institute of Health website: https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/list-all/

🌿 Getting these nutrients directly through diet are much more beneficial for you (and baby) than depending soley on a supplement.

🌿 As always, please consult with a Dietician and your medical provider if you are having any concerns or making big changes to your diet!

As if there already aren't a million things to worry about with a newborn... wondering if your baby is getting enough milk is STRESSFUL!

🌸 Fussy baby, poor latching, not pumping large quantities, feeling like baby wants to breastfeed "constantly".. and many other things can make us feel like baby just "isn't getting enough."

🌸 Most mothers have enough lactation capacity to produce at least 1/3 more milk than their baby typically take. I often see the term "just enougher", with women who aren't producing ounces and ounces extra... but this is NORMAL! You're not a "just enougher", you're more likely "just right " for your baby 💕

🌸 If you have concerns, they should be addressed. But know that there are many factors that play into production, and there are a lot of unrealistic expectations on how this whole process is supposed to go.

🌸 Please reach out to your medical provider/baby's pediatrician if you have concerns about their intake.

🌸 Then reach out to a lactation specialist who can help give you tips and support!
