We are excited to introduce our newest PA, Tessa Fain! Tessa is a board-certified physician assistant and joined Durango Dermatology in 2025. She received her Master of Physician Assistant from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to completing her Master’s degree, Tessa spent several years as a medical assistant at Durango Dermatology.
Her special interests include skin cancer prevention, surgical intervention, and managing a range of dermatologic rashes and conditions. She places high importance on patient education, optimizing evidence-based treatments, and early intervention.

We are excited to introduce Dr. Lindsey West! Dr. West recently moved to Durango and specializes in the detection and treatment of skin cancers and other diseases of the skin, hair and nails, as well as cosmetic dermatology. She attended Duke University, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. She then completed both her medical training and Dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Welcome, Dr. West!

We are excited because today, Dr. Farnsworth is officially joining us from the Air Force, after being stationed in Hawaii. He has been practicing as a dermatologist for several years now and was a Flight Surgeon prior to that. Welcome to Durango Dermatology, Dr. Farnsworth!

To our patients, thank you for trusting us with your skincare over the last 55 years. We wouldn’t be at this milestone today, if it wasn’t for you. We have met so many great people over the years, and feel very grateful to be a part of this community.

To all of our providers and staff, thank you for being a part of our family. It’s truly special to come to the office every day and work alongside such hard working and dedicated individuals. Your passion and care for each of your jobs creates a trusted team that I am proud to work with.

And finally, to Dr. Lawrence and Virginia Gaughan (my parents), thank you for having the courage, 55 years ago, to move your family to a new town and open as the first dermatology practice in the area. When there was only one patient on the first day, thank you for taking a chance on day two. We are all genuinely grateful for the foundation you built.
