In mid-August, thirteen Towaoc community members and Kathryn Jacket set out into the Mancos and Hesperus landscapes to gather töö'nap—the Ute Mountain Ute term for chokecherries. Throughout the day, participants learned how to spot and harvest the cherries while sharing family stories and cultural teachings. Thank you to all who participated!
