Jennifer Fiebig Counseling, LLC Jenny Fiebig is an IFS therapist specializing in inner healing, self-discovery, and emotional balance through compassionate, integrative therapy.

I work with young adults and adults who feel stuck; that something is blocking them from getting to where they want to be. They have lost their motivation, self-confidence, feel sad or fearful, or are haunted by things that have happened to them in the past. But, they want more support that just sitting and talking; I have a program that helps them do just that. I believe and understand in the pow

er of moving beyond talk; to use art, music, and the outdoors in helping people to transform their lives. Not everybody learns from just sitting and talking or is able to really process fully what is going on for them. Some people are more kinesthetic and learn through movement or experience, or art and music. I am that kind of way, so I know how to connect with people in that way.

Starting in 2025 I will be shifting my practice to primarily intensive sessions!
Many of us have gotten used to weekly 60 minute sessions with our therapists. Though I enjoy these weekly sessions with my clients, a problem I've run into is that I am often full and don't have the capacity to take in more folks. Another problem is that we often do not have enough time within 60 minutes to do deeper work. We get started, then have to rush to finish the session.
I greatly appreciate the vulnerability that my clients feel during sessions, and rushing to the end never feels good to me, nor to them.
These 3-5 hour intensive sessions are my solution.

"IFS is a transformative tool that conceives of every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.
IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts. IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.
But IFS is much more than a non-pathologizing evidence-based psychotherapy to be used in a clinical setting. It is also a way of understanding personal and intimate relationships and stepping into life with the 8 Cs: confidence, calm, compassion, courage, creativity, clarity, curiosity, and connectedness. If you had asked my younger self if I was going to be a counselor when I grew up, I would have laughed and said I would be living in the “woods”. I didn’t even know what a counselor was a that time.
But living in the woods did come true for me, as I worked for outdoor education in my 20’s. I spent a lot of time in the back-country helping to guide others to re-connection to self, others and landscape. Even though the work was not easy, I found joy in being a part of other’s healing journey. In my early 30’s, I decided to go to graduate school at Montana State University to get my masters in Mental Health Counseling. Since then, I’ve continued to expand my understanding and capacity of what healing means and how to bring healing to populations in need of it.

They say before entering the sea,
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the way
that she has travelled, from the peaks,
the mountains, the long winding road
which crosses forests and villages,
and sees in front of her such a vast ocean
that entering it doesn't seem anything else
than having to disappear forever.
But there's no other way.
The river can't go back.
No one can go back.
Going back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
and to enter the ocean.
It's only when entering the ocean
that fear will disappear,
because it's only then
that the river will know it's not about
to disappear into the ocean,
but to become ocean.

During the COVID-19 quarantine, online therapy is the only way that I am providing therapy. These are unique times that create a lot of uncertainty. Many of us want to be able to talk this through to decrease anxiety. I understand the tendency to pull back and financially conserve during times of uncertainty.
