She is based in Southwest Colorado. Based in Southwest Colorado, Marsha Porter-Norton is a professional facilitator, consultant and project manager. Since 1994, she has worked with over 90 organizations including governments, topic-based coalitions and nonprofits. Marsha is results-focused and helps groups reach their goals, finding common ground and workable solutions. She brings energy and drive to projects, and is a tenacious problem solver. Having grown up in rural Southwest Colorado with long-time connections across the region, she brings a unique perspective to her work in the Four Corners. Her most recent assignments and accomplishments - done with many stakeholders -- includes the Hermosa Creek Workgroup (resulted in federal legislation that has been introduced); the Lower Dolores Plan Working Group (federal legislation is underway to establish a National Conservation Area); the Dolores River Restoration Partnership; the Southwest Trails Roundtable; the Bear Working Group; and the Citizens Health Advisory Council; and most recently a project to mark the 25th Anniversary of the San Juan Skyway. When she is not working, Marsha enjoys being with family and friends especially when in the outdoors. She and her husband John Norton moved to Durango in 1994.
