Coronavirus info.
Many people have concerns about the disease COVID-19 as it has been in the news lately. It is a special concern for us at DD@S and we are taking precautions to prevent exposure to our patients and our staff. It appears that our standard protocols of health history screening, glove and mask usage, and proper hand washing are the best way to prevent transmission of COVID-19. Here are the facts:
*Most common symptoms of COVID-19: fever, cough and shortness of breath.
*symptoms may appear between 2-14 days after exposure
*avoid CLOSE contact with people who are sick
*avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
*stay home if you are sick
*cover your cough of sneeze with a tissue and then throw it away
*keep doorknobs and frequently touched surfaces with regular household cleaning spray or wipes
According to the Center for Disease Control:
*it is NOT RCOMMENDED for people who are well to wear a facemask, the use of facemasks is crucial for health care workers who come is close contact with patients
*if you have the symptoms of COVID-19 you should wear a facemask to prevent to prevent infecting others
*always wash your hands before eating and after going to the bathroom, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
*washing your hands with SOAP AND WATER is BEST, alcohol-based hand sanitizer is OK but soap and water is better.
