We as a country have to figure out a better way to treat chronic pain! Our mission here at Piedmont Concierge Physical Therapy is to help people in pain avoid addictive opioids and/or surgery through the use of physical therapy.

Exercise has proven to help reduce pain-threshold levels and decrease dependency on pain meds. Our medication’s sometimes helpful? Of course! But exercise and strength training need to be a part of the first line of defense when it comes to treatment of chronic pain!

I love this quote from Peter Attia in his book “Outlive.” Literally one of the best things that you can do to prolong your life and and prevent chronic disease is exercise 💪🏼! The only problem….less than 1/3 of the population is actually doing it…

Only 28% of Americans are meeting the physical activity guidelines set by the CDC:
🏃‍♀️150 minutes of aerobic exercise at a moderate intensity per week
🏋️At least 2 days per week devoted to strength training

My passion is to not only help people get out of pain 😫 in the short-term, but to help them live a lifestyle of building strength and avoiding preventable disease in the long-term❗️
