Welcome to Birth with Laney! I’m a certified labor doula in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. (I serve the Triangle, IYKYK.) I offer evidence based, non judgemental support for pregnancy, labor and early postpartum. I am certified through ProDoula, currently training with Cornerstone, educated with Evidence Based Birth, and working with the amazing Doulas of Raleigh. Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are beautiful, unique experiences that were once guided and protected by the knowledgeable women of our communities. As a doula, I hope to carry that tradition of bringing experience, best practices, and emotional space to birthing people in all walks of life.
I enthusiastically support families of all varieties, birthing people across the gender spectrum, plus size people, people with disabilities, people of color, and trauma survivors. Medical systems are not all equally skilled at supporting these groups and doulas can help identify and address outdated practices and discrimination.
More than anything, I want to help you find the right support for you! If you would like referrals to birth workers with specific backgrounds, experience or expertise; I will happily provide connections to the amazing birth community here.
