Featured in April's newsletter is a sculpture from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dated to the early 7th C., of the Buddha Amitabha. In related traditions, Amitabha is identified as the Buddha of Infinite Light, of Eternal Life, and comphrehensive love. In this sculpture, he rests in a meditative pose, likely with hands upturned, one resting on the other. The association is to Amitabha's principal role in Pure Land Buddhism..
