It’s the first Sunday of 2026. And a new way to reset your self-care. Effective self care starts with small steps. Tonight- a small step is how to you go to bed.. tonight- turn the tv off, power down your phone early and rest. Brain dump, breathe and rest. Go to bed.

I’m thankful for 6 years in private practice. I started my practice on faith and it has flourished. I have learned so many valuable lessons and along the journey managed some amazing highs and experienced deep losses. I’ve fought for my identity (literally) and celebrated my clients. This year, I pivoted. I became a Clinical Manager at a community organization- utilizing my degree in clinical spaces. I’m still seeing clients but this year, I chose to pivot. As our girls get older and busier, I want to be intentional about how I spend my time and on what.. my work is my focus but my family is my priority. Year 6 will look different.. intentional, peaceful. I Thank you for rolling with me on this journey.. for trusting me and letting me be your favorite therapist. Here’s to a new year, with affirmations, wins and success.

I woke up this morning sad because of the loss of someone I hold dear to me and my work. While I step away to grieve and reflect, I’m reminded of the light that Dr. Davis possessed, her humor and her love for God, her family and healing. Be lite today. Be light in this world. And be well.

It’s World Mental Health Day 💚

Did you know that 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health challenge each year? And yet, so many still suffer in silence because of stigma, shame, or fear of judgment.

Today is a reminder that mental health is health. It’s okay to take breaks, set boundaries, ask for help, and say no when you need to protect your peace.

Check in with yourself. Check in with your people. Healing isn’t a solo journey — it’s something we do in community.

Let’s normalize therapy, self-care, prayer, and real conversations about what it means to be well — mind, body, and spirit.
