In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service, we invite you to come out and support our community at El Futuro’s greenspace. Whether you love helping others, enjoy being outdoors, or simply want to make a positive impact, there’s a place for you here!
🌿 Activities include: Gardening and greenspace care, and Trash pick-up

🌳 Come out on Sunday, January 18th from 11 AM to 2 PM to connect with neighbors, beautify our shared space, and contribute to a cleaner, greener Durham. This event is proudly hosted in collaboration with Keep Durham Beautiful

✨ “In times of stress, it is a sign of health to look for meaning.” This month, we’re reflecting on the stories that remind us of the meaning behind why El Futuro exists, and one of those is Norma’s. Known as “the grandmother of the Latinos” in North Carolina, Norma shares a powerful testimony about her father’s journey as an immigrant and servant leader. Her story reminds us that mental health care rooted in culture, dignity, and connection can change everything.

🌟 Watch Norma’s video and help us continue this mission. By donating before December 31st, you’re ensuring Latino families have a place where they feel seen, supported, and valued. 🎁 Plus, 10% of all December donations will support Norma’s Casa Abuelita project, offering respite and joy to parents of children with special health needs.

We are honored to share that Dogwood Health Trust has awarded El Futuro an extraordinary grant to strengthen our Training, Education, and Consultation Services (TECS) for mental health providers.

With this transformative support, we will be able to:
🧠 Train more providers in culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care
📚 Expand workshops, webinars, and learning communities that uplift best practices
🤝 Offer consultation and guidance to organizations serving Latino families
🌎 Equip the mental health workforce with tools to better respond to stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma in our communities

This investment doesn’t just support El Futuro — it strengthens the entire mental health ecosystem across our region.
