We're sharing a post for Sacred Synergy Solutions! They are offering a Lunch and Learn series for folks who are very new to solidarity practices in mental health soon. If you know anyone who might be interested, please share!

"This is absolutely a space for people to say they have no idea what this is and ask big questions that they might not know how to ask. I love walking with folks who are in the beginning phase of curiosity but know that something about mainstream approaches feels 'wrong'."

Exciting news! I am now offering a Lunch and Learn 4-part series, Introduction to Solidarity Based Practices in Mental Health. This series is offered on *Wednesdays* at *12pm EST*.

This series is offered by Dr. Kayte Thomas, who brings nearly 20 years of experience across advocacy, mental health, education, refugee-serving systems, and equity-centered practice. Her approach has been shaped by ongoing study with decolonial scholars, and by a long process of learning from people, movements, and communities that have resisted domination - including the ways mainstream mental health practices cause harm. She offers this series as a grounded starting point for mental health professionals who recognize that what we have been taught as universal frameworks are anything but that, and who refuse to be complicit in harming others.

Please sign up here and you will receive a link to join after payment is received. https://forms.gle/4r5YhSbPQxYHCCGs9

Our Story

Founder Statement & Mission: My own personal journey of work/life balance, mind-body connection, and curious and compassionate engagement with the world has fueled me to seek new opportunities to develop and grow. This helps me find a deep sense of meaning and purpose in my own life. I thoroughly enjoy supporting others in their growth experiences and have brought together practitioners who focus on positive change.

My interest in forensic psychology derives from my desire to ensure that people are treated justly and that everyone has the same opportunities. To me, justice emphasizes logic and weighing principles to determine moral rights and responsibilities. It also includes care reasoning which involves empathy and compassion; the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. I want to know that my work and expertise is helping make a positive difference in the world. Not many practitioners feel comfortable working within the legal system; therefore, I have brought together clinicians, and partner with other professionals, who provide people with opportunities for respectful conflict resolution.

I also highly value mentoring and coaching, so providing opportunities for students in training, as well as new mental health professionals, who want to get established before making their own way in the world is an important component of my practice.
