Libman-Sacks endocarditis (LSE) is a rare cardiac manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) characterized by sterile valvular vegetations that can induce valvular dysfunction and heart failure.

We report the case of a young patient with poorly controlled SLE who presented with acute decompensated heart failure due to severe mitral regurgitation (MR) from LSE and concomitant constrictive pericarditis, ultimately requiring urgent surgical intervention. Read our CASE report: bit.ly/4dQ7thK

For this JASE report, we sought to validate right ventricular (RV) stroke volumes (SV3DE) and tricuspid regurgitant volumes (RegVol3DE) measured by three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE).

Then we compared the quantitative metrics used to assess TR severity obtained by 3DE and by both the conventional and the corrected PISA methods. Read the article using the link below.

Quantifying tricuspid regurgitation (TR) severity by conventional Doppler echocardiography is challenging.

🫀PRODUCT OF THE MONTH🫀 This 31-page clinical reference (6" × 8") translates the 2025 on left ventricular diastolic function into a concise, clinician-focused tool for diastolic assessment and HFpEF diagnosis.

Centered on the new unified diagnostic algorithm, this guide replaces the previous multi-algorithm model with a single, validated pathway applicable to all patients regardless of LVEF.
