We’re making s’mores for a special Memorial Day 🍫 Since the weather hasn’t exactly cooperated for outdoors s’mores, a quick :20 seconds in the microwave will make them *almost* as melty and gooey as roasting over a campfire.

We’re so lucky Mahki likes sharing his adventures in the kitchen with us!

Today we're cheering on Julia Plummer, a Community Engagement Coordinator for Emerge! Julia may be a familiar face from our Marketing Team, as you can usually find her out and about in the community learning about how we can support our local partners and stay connected. Julia brings so much kindness and excitement to her role, and we're lucky to have her bubbly personality on our team! 🫧

More about Julia ➡ Julia was born and raised in upstate New York but moved to North Carolina in 2011. She earned her associate’s degree in Business Administration at Cape Fear Community College. She previously lived and worked in Livermore, Colorado and Mackinaw Island! Julia enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping in the mountains!

We’re back for Chapter Three of the Reading Round Up, and in this newest edition our friend Megan Beasley, M.S., CCC-SLP, (and wonderful host of SLP Story Time!) is sharing tips for making reading together at home a little more enjoyable for you & your kiddo.

➡️ Change up your location! Try enjoying a book during bath time, or even during dinner table while everyone is together.

➡️ Pick books with familiar characters! Especially for those little ones who are reluctant to give up screen time, finding a character from their favorite TV series or their favorite movie might draw their interest.

➡️ Play I-spy while you read! Find opportunities for your little reader to engage with the story you’re sharing.

🚨 Super important breaking news - we now have a Dog of The Month celebration at our Carrboro Clinic! This is Carr, a friend who visits us every week, and according to his acceptance speech, feels very honored to be the inaugural DOTM!

If you want to submit your dog to be considered, you can email pictures to morgan@emergepeds.com by May 8th. We will conduct an ✨extremely formal✨ voting process and post May's dog in the Carrboro lobby and on social media the following week!

We can't wait to see your four-legged friends! 🐾
