Big things happening at Senior PharmAssist! 🎉

Our work is helping shape conversations far beyond Durham. Recently, our Executive Director, Gina, was invited to write an editorial for the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society—one of the most respected journals in the field—highlighting medication challenges in the U.S. and sharing the Senior PharmAssist model on a national stage.

Read the article here:https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5dc889428f8a511234bb4dad/t/69c19800e6baa132870835fb/1774295040634/J+American+Geriatrics+Society+-+2026+-+Upchurch+-+Medications+and+What+Matters+Most+in+the+US+and+Abroad.pdf

In the coming weeks, Gina will also be speaking at national meetings including the American Pharmacists Association, the American Geriatrics Society, and the Pharmacy Quality Alliance—bringing real-world insights from our participants into important policy and practice discussions.

Even more exciting, these same insights are informing national conversations about Medicare through the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), where topics like simplifying coverage choices and improving access to medications are front and center.

None of this happens without our incredible staff. Their day-to-day work with participants—solving problems, building trust, and improving health—is what makes this recognition possible.

While we’re proud to contribute to national conversations, our focus remains right here at home. As we continue to grow our impact, we’re working to ensure Senior PharmAssist is no longer Durham’s “best kept secret.”

💙 Thank you for being part of this work with us.

A little brightness over the office early this morning. 🌈

We were treated to this beautiful rainbow stretching over our building—a nice reminder that even on busy days, there’s a moment to look up and appreciate something special. We’re grateful for the view and the work happening inside these walls every day. 💙
