Break out your dirndl and lederhosen and come celebrate at a HOLIDAY Polka Show at the Blue Note Grill - with all your favorite holiday hits played by the NC Polka Time Allstars. The polka cheer has been shifted from Oktoberfest to December 6th!! What a generous and festive fundraiser for Smile Together - We can't wait!

Calling all our ghosts, witches and black cats- Let's creep it real this Halloween!! 👻 Hope everyone has a fun-filled day and a frightful night. We sure have been having fun (for days). Today... make sure you wear a great costume, enjoy the pumpkins and spooky decor, get LOTS of candy, and BRUSH YOUR TEETH. 🦷

We had a walk down memory lane with Kyle and his parents last week...talking about the joy of watching Kyle grow up into a strong, smart, motivated young man. He has been on the journey with us for a long time, and we ALL know Kyle and his family well. You may be taller than Dr. Marcus now (LOL), but we will always see you as a witty, playful little boy, bright-eyed and ready for hijinks (likely with the orthodontic team).

Sometimes Team days can become long- but we do our best to make it tolerable, and dare we say... entertaining. So we do things like go around clinic and visit the fish on the walls. Drew was a CUTE and enthusiastic participant, and wanted photos with Dory the fish and the turtle- and we took pictures of all his creatures by the black screen (like he did). One of our 'famous' artists, Aubree, was in Team this week. It was so fun to see her so proud of her spectacular fish artwork hanging on the wall of the Children's Health Center. It has been wonderful to see her grow into such a beautiful, caring young lady. (Awe, look at baby Aubree). We are so proud of you!

Halloween is coming... the Duke Orthodontic Team is in planning mode. You know how they go 'over the top' to decorate the Oral Health Office. This year they even got pre-Halloween t-shirts... Susan has been Dr. Marcus's "right hand" for 19 years. She has been at Duke for 29 years. Today is her last day- she is retiring! We are so happy for her 😭😭😭😭😭😭. There are so many ways to describe her- kind, patient, comforting, helpful, diligent, calm, knowledgeable... I could go on. And all of you have stories of when Susan helped, comforted, or listened to you. Or fixed something. Or said the right thing. Or showed up. We all do, too. She took care of her patients, and she took care of her team. We are so lucky to (always) have Susan as part of our Duke Team. She is amazing beyond words. Enjoy retirement- and your beautiful family!! (But if you get bored, we are here.)

It is always a good day when a "tube man" is made. Camden's ear tube had fallen out, Dr. Raynor retrieved it from his ear canal, and she created Tube Man. Dr. Raynor is the best! (Do not try to pull your ear tube out at home- it has to fall out on its own - LOL) Everyone got their photos taken by the black backdrop, even Monkey (looking good, Monkey). Camden you are such a fun, CUTE guy!! Thanks for the adventure.
