Making use of every second I have to prep for a keynote I am giving on Thursday morning for a group of Christian executives.

That means car time becomes a mock meeting room where I rehearse section of the keynote out loud…. 🚗🎤

That means going over my notes with a fine tooth comb in the orthodontist waiting room while my son gets his braces tightened. 😬🦷

That means spending time tweaking and retweaking my presentation for this specific audience so I can deliver exactly what they need. 💻

I love the work God called me to do in this season of my life.

I am so grateful to be able to use my gifts, experiences and my expertise to help others optimize their health so that they, too, can show up at their best in every area of their life.

If you are a business owner, HR or Benefits director, remember that healthy leaders are your ultimate performance strategy! They are your most valuable asset. Invest in them. The ROI will blow you away (and yes, your bottom line will show it too)!

Message me to learn more about my Healthy Leader Strategy Sessions and how they can help your people!

Embracing quiet and stillness each week has become one of the best things I have done for myself.

I take the first 3 days of the month off of social media, podcasts, music, news etc AND every Monday I take 60-90 minutes to sit in the quiet ar a local Parish.

It’s been a powerful and very fruitful practice for me.
We are bombarded by mental, visual and auditory noise and need a break from it to actually hear the Lord more clearly and even to hear our own heart speak.

Hope this helps inspire you to give it a try for a few weeks and see the positive impact it can have on your life!

❤️,
C

What you do in private always shows in public.

Time with the Lord shows up in your sense of peace.Time in Scripture shows up in your wisdom.

Your sleep shows up in your focus.Your nutrition shows up in your energy.Your movement shows up in your strength.Your stress management shows up in your patience.
Your discipline shows up in your confidence.

This is why the small things matter.

The quiet routines. The daily habits. The unseen choices.

The truth is, the foundation of a healthy, vibrant lifeis built in the moments no one sees.

You become what you faithfully practice when no one is watching. So practice wisely.

❤️,
C

Very, very long (but FUN) tournament day yesterday.

⏰ 6:00 am wake up call, hopped in the car and drove
2:5 hours to the mountains of Asheville, NC for a friendly local tournament.

Triple stripping all us fencers.

Higher elevation.

By my 9th bout —.and very little time in between them all to catch my breath — my 🫁lungs were struggling. I did the best I could to get my breathing under control bc not feeling like I could wasn’t helping me at all. Grateful for those little portable oxygen canisters!!

Enjoyed seeing some new friends and many familiar faces. We truly have a wonderful fencing community in North and South Carolina and they make it worth the long car rides, bruises and showing up on the days when fatigue hits hard.

Best part?

I was able to make it back to Charlotte in time to surprise my oldest in his DE rounds of a local Epee tournament. Gave my hubby and youngest a good surprise too!

Thank you to my amazing Hubstud for being so supportive of the kids and I fencing!
We love you!

For all of my Charlotte NC ladies who own your own business…..

You hear me speak about and the association as a whole on repeat.

That’s because THIS is where women in business — women who are shaping the furture of business their cities — come to get more education.

Come to grow professionally and personally.

Come to get support.

And even more importantly, have women advocating for them on the local and national levels.

Simply put, NAWBO is the table you want to be seated at. ⚡️

Even better? There is a seat with your name on it at NAWBO Charlotte.

We have a fantastic event taking place in a few weeks.

Come see what we are all about.
Ask questions.
Meet other women in the arena.

Senator will be in attendance and rumor has it that a couple of players from Charlotte’s Womens professional soccer team, the , will be joining us as well ⚽️

DETAILS:

Monday Apr 20, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Before I became a Mother, I used to be afraid that I’d have to put my dreams on hold while I raised children.

How wrong I was!

My sons are learning how to lead others and “go for it” by watching ME lead others and go for it (IT = dreams/goals).

They are learning to “get up and try again” every time they see ME “get up and try again.”

My oldest has watched me build my business the last 8 years. He’s seen the tears. The frustration. The wins. He constantly asks questions. Now he has not one, but two small businesses of his own — event photography/videography and landscaping. He’s learned not to give up and quit when things get hard because I didn’t give up and quit when things got hard.

My youngest loves to cook, and so we cook together, side-by-side. And this kid can make some seriously good charcuterie board. If you ever come to my house, he’ll be the first to offer you “Sips & Snacks” — his own version of “Happy Hour.”

And then, there’s fencing.

They both love it. Showing off our “battle bruises” after practice or a tournament brings us a good laugh and helps us bond as we are all doing our best to get a little bit better every week.

Being able to pursue my dreams alongside my kids? Now THAT feels amazing!!

How God Used My Fencing Club To Reunite Us With Longtime Friends……. THIS IS SO COOL!!!

Ready for it?

Friends who I have known for over 30 years (from Miami) came into town for a black tie work celebration.

Tuxedo gets forgotten at home.

They call a tux rental place in a panic not so panic.

Tux rental place happens to be across the street from Charlotte Fencing Academy.

Husband laughs and says, “Caro fences!” And gives me a call….. I tell him, “Errol! That’s where I train!”

He was like “oh my gosh, I keep getting Charlotte and Charleston mixed up and thought you guys were in Charleston!”

He and his wife ask us to join them for brunch at Supperland — a super cool restaurant that used to be an old church. It’s very hard to get a reservation there, but he called and they were able to get us 6 in no problem. 😱

Well did we have “CHURCH” over brunch this morning!! ✨

It was definitely divine timing bc the Lord used these two lifelong friends to minister to me in such a powerful way.

Not gonna lie, I was crying my eyes out, and so very grateful for Errol and Jenn……these friends I have had in my life for such a long time. They have seen me go through so many seasons both personally and professionally….. and they’ve always been faithful prayer warriors for me and my family.

And if they hadn’t had spotted CFA 🤺……brunch and the ministry I received from the Lord through them wouldn’t have happened.

God is so freaking good!!!! 🙏🏻😭

Love you, Errol C Johnson and Jenn!!

While on a business trip for this past week, I invited my friends — our current NAWBO President and our immediate Past President, Rochelle — to join me for a night of fencing with my buddies at .fencing in Durham.

Nicole was so brave to say “yes” to the invitation….. You see, Nicole is mostly deaf and reads lips. And fencing masks are already challenging enough to hear clearly through let alone see someone speaking.

She’s also been on an incredible wellness journey and had some fears about being able to fit into the gear, keep up physically etc.

But she kicked fear to the curb and ya’ll, she did great! 😊 🎉

My Vet friend gave Nicole her first ever fencing lesson and Rochelle captured it all on video for us.

We had so much fun! We laughed 😂! We sweat 🥵! We hit each other with pool noodles and then Nicole graduated to hitting the coach with a REAL foil weapon.

It meant so much to me to be able to introduce a few of my NAWBO friends to my fencing friends like and .moore.31105

You see, both of these communities are a HUGE part of my life and the relationships I have made are important to me. They each bring value to my world both professionally and personally. I am a better woman because of them!

Thank you again to for always welcoming me, my family — and now my board of directors — to your club. It’s always a wonderful experience and I am grateful to you guys! And thank you to Coach Mike for the superb fencing lesson too!

Earlier this week, history was made in Raleigh, NC — and I (NAWBO Charlotte President-Elect), along with our current President, Nicole Reina, our Immediate Past President, Rochelle Stewart, and several of our NAWBO Raleigh and Charlotte Board of Directors/members, had the honor of being there to witness this special moment.

On Wednesday, March 26th, NC Governor Josh Stein signed a proclamation declaring March 26, 2026 as “Equal Pay Day”, shining a light on the ongoing fight for pay equity. (Equal Pay Day marks how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned the year before.)

Then on Thursday, March 27th, we celebrated International Women’s Day with an Advocacy Luncheon held in the Governor’s Mansion. Several distinguished leaders, legislators, and professionals joined us to celebrate and advocate for women business owners.

was proud to stand alongside our sisters in representing women across our state. While this was a very symbolic time, the message was abundantly clear: The work we do at NAWBO advocating for ALL women business owners must continue!

PS: Now you KNOW that I wasn’t going to be in this area and not go fencing, right? I mean the April NAC is right around the corner!

So, Wednesday evening, , Rochelle, and I went to .fencing , where Nicole bravely took her first-ever fencing class. Rochelle was the videographer who captured it all on film. I then stayed to take a lesson with Coach Mike, and stayed to fence with my Vet friends. On Thursday afternoon, I went right from the Governor’s Mansion to the Research Triangle Fencing Club to take an hour lesson with Coach Darius and fence with more of my Vet fencing friends for the rest of the day. Needless to say, I left with my heart feeling very, very fulfilled!

It was quite the honor to be selected as the first woman featured in this new “Women Who Lead” series.

The photoshoot was a blast. was wonderful to work with! I appreciated how detail oriented she was from beginning to end. As a former Art Director/Designer (yes, I have had several different careers, as I have been given many talents to use in this life) I am super nit picky — we were equally matched 😂 !

I made it clear that I did not want to be portrayed as the stereotypical executive woman. I wanted for people to see ME; The spunky firecracker of a woman who can give a keynote and yield a power point clicker just as powerfully as I can yield my foil as I sword fight up and down a fencing piste. ⚔️🤺🎤💻

My journey to where I am at right now in this stage of life has been crazy, wild, fun, scary and absolutely exhilarating. When you trust that GOD is the author of your days, and the One you lean on to order your steps — you can trust that you will always be in the right place at the right time. 🙏🏻

Next steps?

✨ I take the reins as the President of in June.

✨I’m producing and hosting a brand new YouTube show called “Where Was God When….” It will be going live this summer!

✨ I’ve got a patent on a design for something really cool (and much needed) …. Working on getting a grant so we can move on the critical next steps.

✨And my keynote speaking side of my business is suddenly generating a lot more bookings — things falling into my lap out of nowhere.

Blessings upon blessings. For the glory of the Lord and in the service of others — always !!
