October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and raise awareness about early detection.
Regular self-checks and screening can make all the difference.
Take a moment this month to learn the signs, schedule your mammogram, or remind someone you care about to do the same.

Small in size, huge in importance.
The cl****is is the only human organ designed entirely for pleasure — and it’s way more than just the little part you see.

👉 What you can see: the g***s, about the size of a pea
👉 What you don’t see: a complex internal structure with legs (crura), bulbs, and nerves that extend deep into the pelvis

✨ Over 8,000 nerve endings — more than any other part of the human body
✨ Not connected to reproduction, just pure sensation
✨ Changes during arousal (yep, it gets engorged like other erectile tissue!)

Let’s normalize understanding our anatomy.

Check out our story today for a deeper look!

✨ Should you check hormones during perimenopause?
Here’s the truth: hormone levels in perimenopause can fluctuate day to day, so testing isn’t always the best way to get answers. What matters most is your symptoms and how they impact your quality of life. Testing may have a place in some situations—but often, the conversation with your physician is more valuable than a lab result. 💬
If you’re unsure, let’s talk through your symptoms and create a plan tailored for you.

👩‍⚕️✨ Is it time for your first GYN visit?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends a first gynecology visit between ages 13–15. Don’t worry — it doesn’t always mean a pelvic exam.

Instead, your first visit is usually about:

Building trust with your provider 💜

Talking about periods, cramps, or cycle changes 📅

Answering questions about body changes, birth control, or sexual health 🩺

👉 The goal? To give you a safe space to ask questions and start your journey in women’s health care.

💡 If you or your teen are approaching this age, consider scheduling that first appointment — it’s about connection, not just exams.

Repost from and

Getting a Pap smear might feel like trying to do yoga in a phone booth, but at Durham Women’s Clinic, we get it! It’s not the highlight of anyone’s day, but it’s a superhero move for your health. The fabulous perfectly illustrates the lighter side of the situation—think of it as the comedy club of cervical screenings. 🎨😂

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends a “smear of cheer” every three years for most patients. Trust us, it’s worth it for the peace of mind. Have you scheduled your annual yet?

Don’t forget: awkward today, healthy tomorrow!
