Empowering Mental Health Together for 40 Years! In our Clubhouse all work is done voluntarily and in collaboration with staff.

Threshold provides a structured work ordered day to Durham's most vulnerable citizens, adults who are living with severe and persistent mental illness. We are open 365 days of the year and celebrate all holidays on their respective day's of observance. Our Clubhouse is certified by the International Center for Clubhouse Development and CARF.

This past month was filled with meaningful holiday activities, including energetic BINGO games, festive decorating throughout the Clubhouse, shopping outings, shared meals, and SRE holiday movie favorites that brought everyone together. Each activity created meaningful opportunities for connections and embracing the joy of the holiday season together. ❤️

We wrapped up the month with our annual holiday party, where Threshold members and staff, their families, our Board of Directors, and community members gathered to enjoy dancing, gift exchanges, and themed food in a warm, celebratory atmosphere. We are grateful for everyone who helped make this season so special and look forward to all that 2026 will bring.

As you may know, in October we celebrated our 40th anniversary with a fundraiser. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the announcement of our first-ever matching grant opportunity, generously sponsored by Jonathan Beard and Grace Nordhoff. This $40,000 match supports essential care coordination for Threshold members—this includes communicating with clinical teams, attending medical and psychiatric appointments, assisting with Medicaid and Social Security recertifications and much more. These services are vital to the well-being of our members, yet they are unfunded.

This matching grant helps fill those gaps and ensures that members receive the support they need. We are thrilled to share that we now have nearly $10,000 toward this incredible matching opportunity. As we move through the holiday season, we invite you to contribute toward our matching gift. We still need $30,000 to make our goal. Your generosity truly makes a difference. 💙

🎉 Threshold’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Recap 🎉
We are extremely grateful for all our wonderful Threshold supporters that attended and donated to our first fundraising event in nearly a decade! We’re thrilled to announce that we raised over $15,500!

We all had a blast and enjoyed getting to meet everyone and learn about their connections with Threshold. The highlight of the event was a member panel where three members spoke about Threshold and how it has impacted their lives. A video featured Threshold members and their testimonials about how Threshold has changed their lives.
