📰✨ EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! ✨📰

In honor of Mental Health Month, Threshold had the incredible opportunity to be featured on ABC11, and we are thrilled to share our story with the community!

This feature highlights the life-changing impact of the Clubhouse Model and showcases how meaningful employment, social connection, purpose, and community support help individuals living with serious mental illness work toward recovery and greater independence.

We are incredibly proud of our Threshold member, Kevin, who courageously shared his experience, shined a light on his own story, and advocated for others. His voice is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible and that everyone deserves connection, purpose, and the opportunity to thrive.

A special thank you to Akilah Davis and the entire ABC11 team for taking the time to learn about Threshold and tell our story. ⭐⏳With only 5 days left, we have raised $16,220 toward our $20,000 goal, leaving just $3,780 to go. This is a challenge grant, which means we must reach the full goal to receive the additional $20,000 grant. ⭐⏳

💭Why does your gift matter?💭
At Threshold, meaningful work is part of recovery. Through the work-ordered day, members and staff work side by side in the culinary, clerical, and career services units to help keep the clubhouse running. From preparing meals and answering phones to supporting employment goals, outreach, and unit meetings, members are essential to every part of the day.

Funds raised support programming, care coordination, and meaningful opportunities for members to participate, contribute, and be part of a community. 🩵

Have you heard about our intern program? One lesser-known part of Threshold is the opportunity we provide for future mental health professionals to gain hands-on experience in community-based mental health recovery. This year, we’ve welcomed several interns who have brought fresh ideas, energy, and support to our clubhouse community.

We are almost 70% of the way toward our $20,000 goal, and every donation helps us continue creating opportunities for our members, interns, and the future of community-based mental health recovery.

This past Saturday, we were excited to participate in the NAMI Walk, giving members the opportunity to get out in the community, connect with others, and support mental health awareness. Being part of this event also allowed us to spread the word about our program and share the importance of community-based mental health recovery through the Clubhouse Model. 💙

Social recreation activities, like the NAMI Walk, are an important part of our program because they give members opportunities to engage in meaningful community events. Donations play a huge role in supporting these activities, especially as our SRE budget is limited and community support helps make these opportunities possible.

Your support can help us continue providing meaningful opportunities like the NAMI Walk, along with programming, care coordination, and member engagement.
With 13 days remaining in our Clubhouse Giving Day campaign, we are working toward our $20,000 challenge goal-and so far, we are close to 66% of the way there, with nearly $13,400 raised!⭐

🏠✨ Building Updates at Threshold Clubhouse ✨🏠

Over the past few months, Threshold Clubhouse has been working on several renovation and modernization projects to create a more welcoming, functional, and updated space for our members, staff, and community partners.

We are so grateful for the support from DMH/DD/SUS through the Clubhouse multi-year initiative focused on training, accreditation, and modernization needs for the state’s Clubhouse network. This support has helped make meaningful improvements possible right here at Threshold.

A huge shoutout to Triangle Sign Co for their fast turnaround on our new outdoor sign and wall decal! These updates have helped bring a fresh look to our building and create a space that feels even more inviting for everyone who walks through our doors.

Each improvement supports the work-ordered day and helps us continue providing a place where members can find connection, purpose, structure, and opportunity.

📰 North Carolina Clubhouses Recognized During Week of Action 📰

Threshold Clubhouse was proud to be recognized alongside Clubhouses across North Carolina during U.S. Clubhouse Week of Action in a message shared by NC DHHS. This week highlighted the essential role Clubhouses play in supporting people living with serious mental illness through connection, purpose, stability, and community-based recovery.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kelly Crosbie and her team at DMH/DD/SUS for recognizing and supporting the Clubhouse Model across our state. Their commitment helps strengthen North Carolina’s Clubhouse network and ensures more individuals have access to a place where they can belong, contribute, and thrive.

As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, we are proud to be part of this statewide and national movement to elevate the importance of psychosocial rehabilitation and community-based mental health care. 💙
