What an incredible day in Portsmouth! The 2025 Seacoast Walk to End Alzheimer’s brought together more than 1,000 walkers and volunteers, and we were right there in the mix!

Residents and staff from all three RiverWoods communities came out to show their support, and thanks to some impressive fundraising efforts, our team raised $9,901.52 toward this year’s record-breaking campaign. Plus, as the Walk's Healthy Habits Sponsor, our dining team served up brain-healthy snacks from the Kitchen Table food truck. Meanwhile, the Seacoast Dementia Hub was on-site, ready to connect with families and share resources.

We’re honored to stand with so many others fighting for awareness, education, and hope. Together, we really do make life better 💜

As part of our Active Aging Week program, Fitness Manager Mike Belanger shared an inspiring presentation about his incredible hiking journey to complete the New Hampshire Grid before his 50th birthday. On April 19, 2025, he did just that, becoming the 200th person to complete the challenge, which involves hiking all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-foot peaks once in every month of the year for a total of 576 summits!

From October 6–11, our residents will enjoy a week filled with fun, thought-provoking, and social events designed to inspire living well at every age.

“There is no exact science in this. This is like a little bit of heart, a little bit of personality, a lot of education. Put it all together and we make a difference.”

As the Community Life Engagement Manager at RiverWoods Durham's Newfound Lodge, Linda blends structure with creativity every day. For her, memory support isn’t about following a formula. It’s about leading with compassion, sprinkling in technology, and backing it all up with knowledge. That’s when the magic happens.

You can read more about how Linda shows up with her head and her heart in our latest Humans of RiverWoods feature, an ongoing storytelling series that celebrates the vibrant, diverse, and inspiring individuals who make up our RiverWoods communities.

We’re thrilled to see the Seacoast Dementia Hub program gaining attention in the news! What started as an idea to better support individuals and families affected by dementia is now growing into a vibrant community 💜

The Seacoast Dementia Hub offers personalized guidance through one-on-one conversations, helping families answer questions and explore next steps.

Every quarter, our community gathers for a gallery opening to celebrate the incredible talent of our resident artists. We kicked off the weekend by unveiling our fall exhibit: "My Beautiful Faces."

Richard only began painting seriously after retirement and kept much of his work tucked away under the bed. Luckily for us, his incredible talent was finally “outed,” by some fellow residents and now his vibrant trove fills our walls.

For the next three months, residents, staff, and guests can enjoy his collection in our gallery hall.

Business was booming at our bake sale fundraiser in support of the Seacoast Walk to End Alzheimer's. Because, let's be real, calories don't count when it's for a good cause!

We're proud to be a sponsor of the Walk, and we're not done yet. Keep an eye out for our food truck on Walk Day, where we'll be handing out brain-healthy goodies to keep you fueled as we walk together to find a cure đź’ś
