Pick up info for paid items. 5317 Highgate Dr. Suite 115, Durham: The office will be open from 10a-3p on Friday 5/23, Saturday 5/24, Wednesday 5/28, & Thursday 5/29 for pick up of purchased items. Any items not picked up by 3p on Thursday the 29th will be donated to Trosa & NOT refunded. Please email us at info@emeralddoulas.com to let us know when you're coming. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone who can help load. Thank you for your purchases!💜

Update on Sales this week!

For local birth workers:

Tues the 20th, 10a - 1p
W & Th 21st & 22nd, 10a - 3p (or till Melanie runs out of steam)

For Public:

Fri & Sat, 23rd & 24th, 10-3 (or till Melanie runs out of steam)

We have some difficult news to share with y’all. Melanie has been diagnosed with leukemia and began treatment on Tuesday 5/13. Her prognosis is very, very good & her doctors fully expect her to be in remission after her 14 month treatment cycle, so she's not going anywhere, but has had to make some very tough & sudden decisions about Emerald Doulas.

As of the end of May, we will no longer occupy the Emerald Doulas office on Highgate Dr. We've had 10 wonderful years there, but Melanie just won't have the time or energy to put into maintaining a physical space.

This means our group classes, Community Prenatal Meetings, and in-office support groups will be on hold for the time being.

We will continue offering private Childbirth Education, VBAC Prep, Birth Refresher, and Infant Care & Feeding classes in client's homes going forward.

Unfortunately, we have to dismantle our birth doula team effective September 1st, to ensure all current clients are supported through their births.

Because the postpartum team takes much less juggling on Melanie's part, we will continue to provide postpartum support as we have been, including antenatal support, and companion support and care for families needing post-surgery care no matter the ages of their children.

Kallyn, one of our postpartum doulas, and Emily, a former EmDo client turned close friend, have started a Meal Train and a shared Day One Journal for anyone who would like to participate and/or stay up to date with my treatments & health.

For those who aren't interested in participating in the Meal Train, Melanie definitely value prayers just as much, if not more!

We will be holding a sale in our office next week (5317 Highgate Dr Suite 115 Durham from about 10a-3p). From the 20th-22nd, it will exclusively be for local birth workers to get first dibs on things. We have birth & parenting books, Rebozos, TENS units, placenta dehydrators, office supplies, furniture, & TONS more! The Sales & Price list is shared here. Everything is first come first served unless you Venmo Melanie in advance, then it will be held for you. The sale opens up to the general public on the 23rd & 24th.
