Durham Community Bodywork

Durham Community Bodywork We offer skillful and inclusive bodywork for stress reduction, physical discomfort, and nervous system regulation with community funded sliding scale rates.

All bodies are welcome and valued within our core ethic of care for each other and our clients. Durham Community Bodywork is a part of a growing movement in integrative, whole-person health. We are committed to expanding access to bodywork and somatic education for members of our community seeking a deeper connection and engagement with their own wellness. We honor the connection between personal and collective health through our personalized treatments, group clinics, and sustainable, living wage work for our team members. Our innovative and affordable clinics combine the benefits of massage therapy, mindfulness practices, relaxation, and community connection. We offer 60 minutes sessions that include clothed massage within a comfortable and supportive group setting followed by a period of guided relaxation to support the body’s ability to process shifts that happen during bodywork.

We're preparing for Saturday, a day of collective care. On one level our preparation is ensuring that all of our supplies make it to our host space. On another level we are in the constant practice of being in community.

Community is necessary for healing and creation. We are grateful for the space at to offer massage, rest, and togetherness in this moment. Check out their other events this month! Sharing power is expansive.

What is community bodywork?
Durham Community Bodywork is happy to be one of many antidotes to individualist models of self-care. We take our place within generational and cultural care movements, standing in resistance to hierarchical models, burnout, and isolation. When you come to a Durham Community Clinic or to our treatment space, you receive the benefit of a whole community of people, caring for each other within our efforts to care for you.

Who are we?
Our clinic team is a magical group of humans including skilled bodyworkers and healers, yoga instructors, energy workers, and activists. We work together to care for you in each clinic, amplifying what we could do alone.

Please join us in October, November, and December for our community clinics!

David, you are beloved. You are and will be so deeply missed for always. Words are simply insufficient. Even though it’s been years since these photos, you are woven into our fabric. You were here, and we are better for it. Amidst all the worthy uses of your precious time, you chose to spend some of it with us, caring for others as we cared for each other, hosting us at Tuckasegee, teaching us about presence and plants and stewardship and love. Thank you for being, as long as you could. 💔✨

even more grateful now for your skill of seeing and catching light so that we can continue to remember.
