Welcome incoming NCCU CSD students! We are so excited to meet you all tomorrow for orientation at 2pm in the School of Education building, located at 700 Cecil Drive in Durham. There you will meet your new fellow colleagues, take your headshot, take a tour of our clinic with the NSSLHA executive board, and kickstart your school year!

After orientation concludes at 4pm, please join us for the NSSLHA mixer at Raleigh Iron Works, located at 1101 E Whitaker Mill Road. All current CSD students are welcome!!! There you can chat with your new colleagues as well as 2nd year students about everything related to NCCU, NSSLHA, speech language pathology and more!

We are so excited to see all your smiling faces! 😊🦅❤️

REMINDER 🔔⏰ : RAFFLE PURCHASES MUST BE PAID BY 5:00 tomorrow, 4/24 and the raffle will be held via Instagram live on at 7:45 pm tomorrow! Here are the rules for the official drawing…
• The cut off time for purchasing raffle tickets is 5:00 pm on April 24th
• We will be going live at 7:45 pm on April 24th to draw the raffle winners
• You don’t have to be present on the IG live to win, but we will contact winners via email
• Raffle participants cannot win more than one basket
• The raffle will begin with the X-Large basket and go down in size in order to give everyone a fair chance of winning

NSSLHA wants to say thanks once again for participating in the raffle! Keep buying tickets and encourage family/friends to do so as well, since they don’t have to be a student to purchase 🥳

Some of our very own NCCU first year graduate students & NSSLHA members: Grace Warren, Emiley Dawson, Caroline Bounds, Antoine Connor, Emma Trudan, Helena Barley, Izzy Diaz, Evelyn, and clinical supervisor Ms. Hay, served the rural population of Enfield, NC at the health fair today giving free hearing, speech and language, swallow, and autism screenings! 🗣️👂🏻

CONGRATULATIONS to our Knowledge Bowl team members: Emma, Izzy, Sarah, Jessica, and Katelyn!! They won the first round of the Knowledge Bowl and SECOND place overall 🥈!!

NSSLHA’s member spotlight of the week is Allison Blair! Allison is in the first year graduate cohort. Allison’s favorite thing about being a NSSLHA member is “the learning opportunities! Hearing from SLPs in the community about their experiences, tips, and gaining further insight on applying what we’re learning in the program and how we’ll apply it to our career after graduation.” A fun fact about Allison’s SLP journey is, “I’m highly interested in pediatric feeding, but after this semester discovered a new interest in aphasia as well!” Thanks for being a part of NCCU’s NSSLHA chapter, Allison 🗣️😊
