Duke Antimicrobial Stewardship and Evaluation Team The Duke ASET is a multidisciplinary collaboration between to provide system-based decision support Goals of our program are to:
1.

Opimize antimicrobial selection, dosing, and duration of therapy to maximize clinicial cure or prevention of infection and improve patient safety outcomes.

2. Limit unintended consequenses of the use of animicrobials, such as acquired drug resistance, adverse drug events, and elevated healthcare costs.
3. Assure patient safety by reducing medication errors, drug-drug interactions, and improving management of antimicrobial allergies.
