Cassie from Heritage Woods of Dwight stopped by for a special visit to share information about their Assisted Living community and to host a fun wreath-making class for our residents!

Everyone had a wonderful time crafting together, and now our halls are filled with beautiful, handmade wreaths decorating our doors.

Here at The Arc, our residents love a good lunch outing and who doesn’t enjoy a great burger and ice cream? With the cold weather making travel tough and our lunch trips more popular than ever, our Activities Department decided to bring the outing to them!

We had 31 residents sign up to enjoy a full Dairy Queen lunch, and our local DQ team absolutely delivered. A huge thank-you to the amazing staff at Dairy Queen in Dwight for taking on such a big order with smiles and efficiency!

The menu of the day:

🍔 Cheeseburgers
🍗 Chicken strips
🍟 Crispy fries
🍨 Ice cream sundaes & Blizzards (because cold weather won’t stop us!)

The room was filled with laughter, good food, and even better company — a wonderful meal shared with plenty of smiles and warm memories.

Our residents here at Arc at Dwight love a good food day, and last week’s special lunch did not disappoint. We ordered a delicious pizza meal from Casey’s, complete with fresh hot pizzas, crisp salad, a giant cookie or cupcake, and an ice-cold soda.

It was a big hit, and no one left the table hungry.

She values her relationships with coworkers and residents and is often seen working off shifts, holidays, and weekends to ensure the very best outcomes for our building.

This month, we wanted to show our appreciation for the incredible hard work and dedication our staff pours into caring for our residents. To celebrate them, we put together a delicious meal for everyone to enjoy.

Casey’s pizza was delivered in, and our Activities Department went above and beyond with a fresh salad bar, ultimate fudge brownies, and a festive Pomegranate Party Punch.

It was a great time of good food, gratitude, and connection. Thank you to our amazing team for all you do each and every day. Your commitment makes all the difference.

The Golden Gourmets gathered yesterday for a deliciously fun snack recipe. We made Puppy Chow… with a twist. Residents could choose the classic chocolate and peanut butter combo or mix it up with white chocolate, butterscotch chips, and even Nutella. We also added pretzels, M&M’s, and other tasty extras to make each batch unique.

It was so good that a few couldn’t resist “taste testing” along the way, which meant some recipes didn’t quite make it to the finish line – but there were definitely no complaints. We can’t wait to see what recipe we whip up next.

Allison Giordano is December employee of the month. She is a RN here at Arc loved by all.

One of her nominations reads: Advocates for our residents & is such a great nurse. She is so caring towards our residents and always has a good attitude.

Congrats Allison! You are an integral part of the Arc team and your nomination is proof that having you with us is definitely a win for all the residents and staff as well! Thank you for the amazing job you do!

Santa made an early stop to personally visit the residents here. We had such a great time together, every resident received a Christmas gift from Santa and his special helpers. A huge Thank you to the staff for playing Secret Santa and purchasing gifts for their favorite residents as well as the Costco Fulfillment Center in Morris for also joining in to play Santa as well!

We love to see our residents smile and as you can see everyone was so pleased with what Santa brought them.

The local VFW branch in Dwight continues a meaningful tradition by presenting each veteran with a personalized blanket representing the branch they served in. This Christmas, we were honored to recognize Thomas Tock with a Navy blanket in appreciation of his service.

It was an emotional moment when Tom shared that the ship featured on the blanket was the very ship he served on.

Thank you, Tom, for your service to our country, and thank you to the VFW for your thoughtful and heartfelt gift.

To get into the Christmas spirit, our Activities Department took a bus full of residents to the famous White Fence Farm for a delicious lunch of fried chicken and all the classic sides.

Afterward, everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas show by Denny Diamond.

From the amazing food to the beautiful decorations and singing along to Christmas favorites, our residents had a fantastic time.
