March is National Athletic Training Month! 🎉

Since our founding in 1997, STAR Physical Therapy has a strong foundation of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. This month, we’re especially proud to recognize our incredible Athletic Trainers who serve more than 30 high schools and colleges across Tennessee and Arkansas.

From high school sidelines to college campuses, youth sports fields to industrial workplaces, our Athletic Trainers are on the sidelines, in the training rooms, and behind the scenes caring for athletes, preventing injuries, guiding recovery, and building relationships within the communities we serve.

Several of our clinicians advanced their knowledge and manual therapy skills through our Continuing Education course, "Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, and Hand for the Manual Therapist," led by David Sheer, DPT, MOMT, FAAOMPT. 👏💪

This hands-on course was designed to enhance their clinical reasoning and focused on advanced evaluation and manual therapy techniques for conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

Meet one of our newest Techs at our Dyersburg clinic — Jared Woodward, MAT! 🌟

We’re so excited to introduce Jared, who joined us in September of 2025. From day one, Jared has brought a genuine passion for helping others, along with a strong knowledge base that shows in the way he cares for our patients.

Jared’s background in Health and Human Performance, combined with his Master’s in Athletic Training, gives him a deep understanding of movement, recovery, and what it truly takes to help people get back to doing what they love. He even worked professionally as an intern for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream — a pretty amazing experience that reflects his dedication to learning and growing in his field.

Jared shared, “I am so thankful to have found my place. STAR says they don’t just treat you like family, you are family, and I can confidently say they live that out, at every turn. I truly enjoy coming to work every day, and being challenged to be the best I can be each day. Last week, STAR Physical Therapy came together for our annual Directors Meeting—time set aside to focus on 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥.

This year’s meeting was designed to help us learn, grow, and challenge one another as leaders. These moments of connection and shared learning strengthen not only our teams but, ultimately, the care we provide to our patients and communities.
